And, lets face it, an awful record in the Milan derby in recent years.

I hope they prove me wrong this season, but I cant see them being able to actually string enough results together to mount a serious challenge for anything other than a champions league spot.

I'm not being disingenuous with these posts, just looking for a reason behind Iner's staggering lack of success in recent years.

You overlook the fact that the transfer market - especially regarding Italian players - has been stitched up in recent years by Moggi, Galliani and co.

Moratti didn't seem too keen on signing many Italians though did he? More like he wanted to sign the entire Argentine national side...
Moratti has spent almost £500m and most of it was on shite.

ADP 06/07 - 23 goals

Well we had a few, Canna had an agreement with Moggi and co to play 5hite so they could get him on the cheap then we practically had Nesta untill Berlusconi fooked it up.

Funny enough i still dont know why Cuper didn't want Chivu or Kaka, strange that one.

Go on. A convinient excuse had now been provided for the interisti for thier team's failure. What about the CL? Or do juve and milan fixed that also so inter should fail miserably the way they did for donkey years? I think inter fans should just accept the fact that their team is "natural-born-loser", level or no level playing field.

To be honest, as un-ambitous as it might sound I'd happily take "natural born loser" over "cheat" anytime, thanks

I'd like to know who 'sorted' the match officials to 'miss' Shevchenko's headbutt on Materazzi in last year's CL Derby semi Mad. No 'video evidence' for that one.

That just conjured up some horrible memories. Seemed to just be brushed aside.

You could put your mouth on my 'money'...i don't mind a bit of that [its been a while for some of us] Wink

If Inter go out and sign the Juve team, then they MIGHT win the scudetto but i still suspect not...

I think of Inter like Greg Rusedski and the time he was accused of taking performance enhancing drugs...it was obvious he hadn't because he was still sh*t. Its obvious that Inter couldnt have had anything to do with match fixing because they were toss...and it may long continue Wink

And that was why inter has not won the CL that year I guess? Come to think of it, that was why inter has not won the EC/CL since the '60s, right? Just take it you are a sh*te club. Period.

If inter are presumably 'clean' this time around, I believe it's only because they lacked even the gut to cheat and win. Winning is not in their character. Unless of course if it is the tim cup.

obviously Calciopoli is now a factor but my impression of the last 10 seasons or so is that Inter have failed to win a scudetto because all they have done is thrown money at the problem rather than taking time to reflect on what was necessary for a successful team and building one.

I always thought cheating was a cowardly thing to do. Confused

A good point indeed spagbelli. The arguments used by some people on this forum would give Italians a bad name.

Too Right!

sms - you're deluded if you think it takes "guts" to bribe a ref or throw a game

My use of the word was metaphorical.

I don't understand why Inter have received so much criticism. I think it is pretty clear that Inter have themselves to blame for not winning in recent years, but the corruption has played a part too. And although a scudetto win this season would not feel quite right without beating Juve and co, they or whoever wins it will have deserved it. It is not their fault that Milan and Juve have cheated.

Hit the nail on the head Calcio2.

Without the cheating I believe Inter would have won at least one championship and it would have made a major difference.

But you can't sya that for sure, and how much other teams chances were affected.

That is why if the Scudetti are stripped from Juve, the top spot should remain blank with no winner declared.
