Interesting to read today that Francesco Totti is "99% certain" to retire from international football after the World Cup. I think it's fair to say that, unless he does well in Germany next summer, his international career will have been a massive disappointment.

Congratulations to Australia for qualifying for the World Cup. Uruguay were so dull at the last World Cup and came fifth behind Paraguay in their qualifying zone. So, despite the witterings of Alvaro Recoba about Ururguay's 'devine right', the Socceroos will grace the greatest stage alongside such powerhouses as Ecuador, Saudi Arabia and Togo.

I have to say, I'm rather pleased the Aussies have qualified for the World Cup - I did feel sorry for them when they kept missing out.

Imagine if Australia did really well though...that would mean that lazy-ass Harry Kewell could have a WC winners medal to sit alongside his CL winners medal Eek That definately would be undeserving! Red Face

Actually, i dont like many of the Australian players: Mark Viduka is arrogance personified; Mark Schwarzer has an annoying face; Tim Cahill is a one season wonder praised to the point that he should be World Player of the year; Craig Moore is the invisible man Roll Eyes; and the list goes on...

Italy vs Australia. Yes that's Max Vieri and Christian Vieri, blood brothers but playing for different countries.
