On Sunday 18 September 2005, there is a small group of people who are running, jogging and walking the Great North Run in memory of Marcello Chicarella who, as you know, passed away whilst running the event last year. He was a very warm, humorous, fun and dear friend and is still sorely missed by all who knew him. Each of the runners are raising money for Cancer Research UK, which is the chosen charity of Marcello’s family.
If you would like to contribute, please visit the website dedicated to Marcello at:
Hopefully will be able to make it over sometime soon but might not be til nearer Christmas. Was going to ask if there were any Champions league tickets available, but that's a sore point!
Ed, seeing as it's coming up to Marcello's first anniversary, why don't you make this one a sticky (and let us know in advance when you're going to flush it down the plug like the last one, so the forum could accommodate more numerous and more useful threads like "Where can I get that crap FI theme tune?" etc...etc...)?
absolutely Ed, lets make this one a sticky even though the F1 theme tune thread would be of great value to me. Donation pledged Neville and hope Sunday goes well for everyone involved.

To those who will look at this and think, "Hmm...shall I part with my hard earned cash, is it worth it?" Just do it, because it only takes a minute, and it'll do a whole lot of good better than it would being spent on a round of beer You'll feel better for it.
Sorry I've not posted since Wednesday when I put the message up about the run for Marcello and the website. I've been away and not near a PC.
Thank you all for your nice messages and the money which has been donated. You truly are wonderful people - even those who never new Marcello and still give - you are donating to a great cause.
As said before - please keep our pal Marcello in your minds tomorrow - as he would be doing it and telling me how unfit I am - and next week on the 26th at 12.15pm.
My wife and her sister are currently on their way to Newcastle to compete in the race tomorrow. They'll be representing the Motor Neurone Disease Association, an illness that their mother endured for almost 8 years and that eventually led to her death last year.
Between them, they've raised over £2000 in sponsorship.
I'm sure that it will be a very emotional day for most of the people involved in the run, and I hope that everyone raises a whole heap of money for their repective charities.
It's a great thing you're doing Nev, and I wish you and your friends the very best of luck tomorrow.
Well done Nev.. hope you and everyone else running for charity had a great time as well. Saw a bit on TV and it was truly amazing to see so many people out there.
