Some would say, if it weren't for Sinatra (and some of his 'friends'), JFK might still be alive......
JFK's father Joe Kennedy was a bootlegger during prohibition. He was heavily linked with the mafia and when JFK ran for Presidency he asked Sam Giancana to make sure his son won.
Giancana made sure that JFK won the all important Cook County, the election campaign there was more one of terror than anything else.
The deal was that with Kennedy in office the government wouldn't be so tough on the mafia but that wasn't the case. He with the help of his 'bruv' Robert Kennedy started to "break-their-balls". This wasn't part of the deal and the Mafia bosses weren't happy.
There is also evidence that the CIA and mafia collaborated on a mission to wipe-out Fidel Castro and to other throw his government, it was in the best interests of both parties (Castro shut-down Mafia rackets in Cuba). It's known as the "Bay of Pigs". Kennedy also gave his backing to this project but pulled out in the 11th hour and the invading rebels had no air cover and the mission was a disaster.
Kennedy made many enemies, the CIA and Mafia being two of them and being unofficial allies (evidence was given in a senate select committee hearing to support this claim) both had reason to see him dead.
Anti-Mafia wiretaps recorded conversations which indicated that the Mafia were involved in the killing of Kennedy.
On November 22nd 1963 did the CIA and Mafia collaborate and complete one final mission in Dallas, Texas? I say yes...
