I'm actually coming round to the conclusion that PE5 is flat out a more difficult game than it's predecessors, and I've had a look on a couple of forums that seems to confirm that. Defences on Level 5 are very difficult to break down, and simply jigging from side to side to get past people doesn't work as it did on PE4! Even stringing together a few short passes can be tough, you have to really think about what you're doing before you just hit the button.

Agree with all that - a far more difficult game to all pervious versions. The only slightly irratating factor is the foul count per game - seems the slightest touch brings on a free kick/penalty.

Other than that, it seems slower than Pro Evo 4, but thats always the case with each new version. Great to see all the players at the correct teams + there are some decent new unlockable features.

My first game, 1-0 Juve - Milan (Vieira)
Just started the Master League and drew against Parma... Roll Eyes Wink

Agree too, more difficult. Passing is more thinking behind it rather then wacking it up front or passing to an offscreen player. However Freekicks alot easier, scored like something 5 out of 6 in a row.

The idea that it seems slower then pro evo 4 is the extra animation when controlling, passing, shooting, etc the ball. Goalkeeper however improved alot, no more staring at the ball when it goes in or general silly stuff Big Grin.

All in all brilliant game and Konami did it again unbelievable Wink

I'm havin the time of my life with the Master League mode, creating a brand new team of youngsters rather than those sloppy players they give with the worst made up names ever. The logo and kit maker is very good and team look well-proper with their made up bank sponsor logo.

Can't seem to make my own leagues tho, and no Italian teams were included in any of the leagues.

And I'm gonna have to go thru the tedium of changing all the wrong names. Why are Cagliari the only Serie A team with no real name?

Three 0-0 draws so far. Oh well...

Disappointed to see some 04/05 kits in there. Bad Konami - you had time to find the new ones.

I didn't notice the old kits, but some of the transfers aren't up to scratch. We've got no Abbiati, even tho he wouldn't be used.

Been trying to track him to update the team - is he on there ?

1 win, 1 draw and now playing Sampdoria.

Players seem to get knackered really easily....

Moving onto Football Manager for a sec, a news report tells me that Kaka is injured for 5 months and Brazil now find themselves with "no fewer than 3288 first-team players on the casualty list". Ummm...

Don't know if it deals with that particular issue Doo Wop, but are you aware that SI have released a patch already for FM?

And I agree with juventino on the foul count - I gave away a penalty without pressing any of the tackle buttons, it was a 50/50 and the other guy fell over first!

Finally starting to score on 6 stars with some degree of regularity - requires some extremely zippy passing though.

Wow 6 stars, while I was able to run rings around the computer on 6 stars on pes4 i like to take it easy with the new one. I'm still working things out on 3 stars. Wouldn't like to take control too soon.

That's funny, I don't notice any extra animation, they just feel really sluggish, I've been disappointed on my first day of playing. And the graphics look the same and the commentary is virtually untouched.

Agree on the graphics, just tiny bit of improvements with the shirt coming out of the short and stuff like.

It certainly is not sluggish but seems that players are much more realistic on the ball now.

The the commentary is what makes pro evo, pro evo Big Grin. I'm far from disappointed btw, this game is amazing.

I second that Ronin, Pro Evo wouldn't be Pro Evo without atrocious commentary. I can get incredibly frustrated if I'm not scoring but never really disappointed with the game itself, and I can't stop playing it at the moment!

This Pro Evo is without doubt a lot more challenging than the last one, but i'm starting to get the hang of it, even if my old trick of dribbling around everyone with my best player won't cut it now. The main disappointment is that not all the transfers have been done in the game, and that half of the Juventus squad numbers are incorrect.

I think the majority of transfers have been covered, there are few that were last minute that they obviously didn;t get round to.

I've played it for a day, and victories are still hard fought. Although, it does seem VERY easy to score from outside of the box - Just a case of getting the power right.

It certainly does seem more realistic as its nigh on imposible to get more than 2 passes together ! The trigger-happy ref is really starting to get frustrating as fouls are given for any contact.

Have to agree with Doo Wop - I;m not bowled over, but at the same time, i agree with Savi in that i can;t stop playing the thing. The league also seems a bit more balanced without the previous Inter-bias.... Roll Eyes Wink

What's the deal with Football Manager 06 and the official strips/badges? Have any more teams given permission to use their brands?

In the past, I've tended only to manage clubs that have all the official stuff, somewhat limiting the teams I can manage...

I've just bought a Max Drive from Play and along with a file from a PES5 fansite, has completely done up all the team/player names, transfers, kits, badges, sport apparel logos and even boots.

Well worth the investment, plus you use it to turn ur PC into a huge memory card via the max drive. I highly recommend it.
