After the policeman was killed in February the Ultras took a lot of criticism, but the police took none. Their treatment of Manchester United fans was wrong, and it should never have gone that far. Maybe some Man Utd fans were misbehaving, but from the pictures I've seen it never warranted that type of reaction.

It's about time something serious was done about the policing of games, because it seems to me that they're doing a pretty bad job, and have been doing for a long time. Fans have no respect for them because of that, and as a result you get these violent clashes, which I believe are mostly with away fans, who are treated like animals. It's completely unfair to call for Roma or Man Utd to be kicked out of Europe after the incidents, as the police are clearly the main guilty party.

Forza Juve!!!

i see Poland/Ukraine have been awarded euro 2012.I have very little doubt that a big factor in this has been that Italian football has been presented with a number of challanges over this last year(Calciopoli and the ultras problem culminating in the Catania riot)and has on each occasion done its best to bury its head in the sand and hope the problem would go away.I'm delighted UEFA has shown its disgust in this way-normally Italy would have been the overwhelming choice for such a tournament but the Italian authorities have proved themselves incompetant and incapable of decisive and meaningful action

Why ban Roma fans, it's not our fault the police beat up some man utd fans.

Surely losing 7-1 was punishment enough?!

Because, of course, Polish football is totally free of violence and corruption, isn't it?

Polish Corruption

agreed there are problems in Poland,Italys problems are compounded by their image worldwide-as i said theyve had oppurtunities to take in hand corruption and hooliganism and, beyond paying lipservice to the problems, theyve done precisely nothing.I find it incredible that the nation that holds the world cup is seen as a laughing stock

Poland/Ukraine is a terrible choice!! Have any of you seen the racism and violence that football in these countries produce? I don't care if they haven't staged anything and UEFA are trying to be fair to everyone.....TOUGH! I know there will be trouble wherever the competition is held but some better than others............

In my opinion.

Allez Sedan!!

Steviemacd,

It's got nothing to do with UEFA showing it's disgust at Italy. If this was the policy, why was it awarded to Poland who don't take corruption in hand, they feed it, that's why FIFA and UEFA have threatened them with expulsion?

All it's got to do with is giving the smaller footballing nations a reason to vote the people who appease them back into power. Remember one country one vote.

The foreign media can say it's scandals and hooliganism, but they are just writting what their readers want to see. Alot of people believe what they want to believe.

The European championships been awarded to a corrupt Poland was football politics and nothing else.

Regadless, Italy has way more advanced facilities than Poland and Ukraine! I do agree that there are some seriously racist fans over there...they do deserve a chance but I did not think it will be at the expense of Italy.

They'll build new facilities for it though, Portugal only had 2 or 3 reasonable stadiums before they got it.
It's a shame because Italy could do with the investment in stadium improvements that would have came with it.
There'll be some serious travelling to do for some fans as at least one team will have to play at the furthest apart cities. While The hosts stay in their respective countries.

There will be no tradesmen left in Poland to build the stadia as they are all over here!
I thinkthe big cities are prob gonna be ok for visitors but when you get 2 the smaller cities its a little different I understand.
