While previewing the Juve-Palermo game he said 'It'll be a historic occasion at the last game at the Alpi...looks like I picked the wrong week to quit'.
Later, after the Carlo Cudicini feature, he said something about moving on to pastures new.
I only had half an eye on the show (and a few too many drinks inside me) so I'm not sure if I was reading too much into it. I would be horrified if he left the show, Serie A coverage wouldn't be the same without him.

Gazzetta's on again tomorrow afternoon before the live game, but I wont see it because it's up against F1 on ITV.
Those two sentences seem fairly conclusive to me though. I wonder where he's going (if he actually is going)?
I just watched the relevant bits of the show again, and I *think* I've misread it. When he says the things about quitting he has a blade of grass in his mouth - it might be an unusually weak joke about the pressures of the season's climax not being conducive to giving up smoking.
The reference to 'pastures new' comes after Carlo Cudicini has complained of being 'stuck in Britain'. James says 'he's not the first person I expected to hear yearning for pastures new, but there you go'.
So I don't think he is leaving the show yet. Just being more ambiguous than usual.
JR is quite a legend! i must admit having not seen Gazzetta or any games for quite a while now (due to lack of sky tv) but I can recall the early days of C4 coverage. I wouldn't miss it for the world. Quality footy host as I'm sure you'll all agree. Please staay on James, just incase I one day get sky! (and the missus pops out for an hour)

Does anyone know anything about this?
Don't allow the grief of Brum's relegation to cloud your Judgement.
Is Brucey staying?
"It's been a long time, I shouldn't have left you ..............."
I'm a Cardiff fan, so I don't know about Brucey. But hopefully their Cardiffian co-owner David Sullivan is going to leave and start pouring some of his millions into his home-town club instead!

Agreed!
The web articles on Guardian Unlimited piece are always a good read, despite the anti-Juve bias.
As Forzafiori says - 'King of the comic metaphor'.
I use the word 'legend' too often but in the case of James Richardson he truely is. I remember the good old channel 4 days, James with a huge ice cream reading the papers! ahh memories
James' finest hour was opening an interviewing with Roberto Baggio (then spending a lot of time as a substitute) with the question "how's your bottom?".
His interviews at half-time in a game in France 98 with a crowd of Italians who couldn't speak English was also great entertainment, but probably ended his slim chances of ever getting a decent telly job.

I tried gettin to them but I think you need to register with itunes first of all. Is this correct?
