before the game between the hammers and palermo shirts were sold saying hammers against the mafia!
the palermo fans were disgusted and quite right too!
i am fully behind them and i believe the hammers should produce a sorry letter to the fans and the city. Its a real disgrace.
I for one think the sooner the hammers are out of this competition the better! Mad

FFS, can you please refrain from starting a new thread every time a thought pops in to your head!?

There's a Palermo thread knocking about somewhere on the forum, this could have posted on there...

West Ham fans are absolute morons. Take offence to something or someone less genetically stupid.

When in Rome, do the Romans.

Palermo fans did display a banner a few seasons back against Article 41bis of the Italian Penal Code regarding a severe prison regime for convicted mafia bosses.

Not all palermitani are mafiosi but the Mafia has far from been eradicated from that city.

The indignation shown by the Sicilians merely confirms this IMO.

Salvatore Cuffaro, the President of the Sicilian Region: “When West Ham come to the Barbera Stadium for the return leg, we will be sure to prove to them how civilised we are by showing them Sicily’s real face,” he noted. “We loathe the Mafia!”

Can't wait Roll Eyes.

The same Toto Cuffaro who has, himself, been investigated for alleged involvement on organised crime. Of course, he wasn't convicted but in Sicily that means very little.

Don't mention anything to do with the Sopranos mate. That show is extremely unpopular in Italy. Apparently gives a wholly unfair impression of Italian Americans and Italians in general.

Making jokes about this is simply not on.
People have suffered and even died because of this organized crime.
There is no way anyone can make jokes about this when this is the case.

Pretending that the problem no longer exists or that it is being dealt with in an effective manner is a more serious offence.

Maybe the Palermo fans should take to the streets, shout "Death to West Ham", shoot off guns, and declare a jihad.
