It all kicks off tomorrow . So the Pool got Kuyt/Kuijt, he's a team player and a big strong lad.I'm not convinced that he'll get a lot of goals. We'll see. Hopefully United can get Hargreaves in but I worry that we haven't replaced Ruud.Rooney and Saha have to produce the goods. Finally, poor wee Ashley Cole .Will this move ever happen? I see he declared himself willing to play this weekend, although Arsene left him out anyway.I bet he doesn't declare himself ready to play in midweek in Europe.

Helluva come back by Reading, Verno and Del Boy must be very happy! I was so close to my dream opening day, but unfortunately, both Sheffield United and Villa conceded and only ended up with a point

Was a great comeback and a great game - Was lucky enough to be there but the mods appear to have deleted my post ?! Ah well, we won and were the better team for much of it. Superman Sonko was man of the match by far, Borough were anonymous despite having Downing, Viduka and Boateng on the pitch. Happy happy days....

Great result for Reading. And in the more important Championship Wolves got some valuable points at Burnley. I can't tell yet if we are championship contenders, mid-table nobodies or relegation fodder but I think Big Mick has made some decent signings in his short time.

Incidentally the BBC's digital coverage and Final Score were lousy. Crappy new graphics and all manner of technical problems. All hosted by Mr. Personality Bypass (Ray Stubbs).

Arriving home having missed Sports Report and choosing to avoid 'Stubbsie' I went for News24, flipped up the digital version of Ceefax and discovered that in BBC Land, Reading had fought back to secure a magnificent 2-2 draw...

Jesus ...how mind numbingly , patronising and sickly was football focus yesterday ? Martin Keown for Gods sake..do me a favour. And Lawrenson makes you feel like he's doing you a favour by intruding on his time..it's such an effort . They also managed to go 50 minutes without mentioning the following words Manchester City, Portsmouth, Newcastle, Bolton, Spurs, Everton amongst others, unless it was in betting terms...Yet we had an interview with Shevvy and an interview with Lampard. Its the last time I'll be tuning in Pure s***e

Blimey! Just had a look at the United score, 5-1, pretty nifty. I'm hoping they do well, not out of any big love for them, just to get some good competition going. Yesterday, listening to Five Live, it was really interesting listening to just how many folk were saying they fancy Liverpool as Champions this season, not just the usual Beeb scouse brigade either but all kinds of folk

5-1 that'll do.Now if Chelsea can be held to a draw.........

I can't tak a positive from Traore's sending off or the result so this week i will continue to love Darren Bent's goal celeration.

I watched MOTD2 tonight, I missed it last night then got up too late to catch the repeat this morning. Something like three players I originally had in my Daily Torygraph fantasy football team scored, needless to say I'd replaced them before the game, great! So glad it's all back on now though! I'm glad Neil Warnock is in the top flight too, the bloke's a ledgend. United looked very good, 5-1, hope they can keep it up. Michael Brown's challenge was nasty, not sure if Corradi deserved to be sent off for City but I guess it was his second yellow. Plus I'm glad it looks like Distin has seen a bit of sense and stayed at City, no disrespect to Boro really but why would anyone leave City for them? Tonnes of dosh springs to mind I guess

I'd be happier if the Arse hadn't played like front bottoms. Dropping points to Aston Villa makes me feel dirty and ashamed. Shocking start to my fantasy campaign too.

No Expect 12 goals per season and nothing more...certainly not worth the hype or the money

So we're now playing with two Shola Ameobi's up front, and an Andreas Andersson-alike in reserve? May God have mercy on us all...

I think consecutive games and a faster pace of football could suit Martins so he could become sucessful.

Interesting to note that, even though he only walked out two days ago, Carlos Tevez has already been removed from Corinthian's squad list on their official website. Although I would love to see Tevez at Old Trafford, which appears to be a story that's gaining momentum, I'm not sure he's what we really need right now (especially at £25M). We need to replace an out-and-out goal scorer with a similar sort of player, and for my money, Tevez is too much like Rooney. Nonetheless, having two of Saha, Rooney and Tevez to choose from wouldn't be that bad I suppose...

No, that's right. United would be better flat track bullies than ever with that line up. Tevez is a barmier than Rooney and scores even fewer goals against good opposition, but he's entertaining. United won't be able to compete with Chelsea at home or Barcelona in Europe, but King's of the Twighlight Zone is the best the Bucs can hope for at the moment. I.e. Beating the dross and winning the odd Carling Cup.
I think what United really need is a strong centre forward and a right-sided midfielder who can whip balls straight on to his bonce. Are Van Nistelrooy and Beckham available? Failing that, Ronaldo's soft shoe shuffle down a blind alley and Saha's breathless sprint on the road to nowhere will do for the OT faithful and until Fergie is shown the door. I for one will be sorry to see him go.
