I don't think that would be a bad idea, one minute you'l be playing for a place in the Intertoto a couple of wins and your'e in with a shout of being in the CL. I've stopped watching the Prem for a couple of weeks, too many meaningless games, this will certainly keep the league interesting for longer.

The system is barking. AIUI, until the clubs protested, it was possible for a side to finish 2nd in the Eredivisie and to end up in the Intertoto Cup, while the 9th placed side got a UEFA place.
As things stand now, (if my Dutch is up to it), AZ, who finshed 18 points ahead of Groningen were knocked out of the play off by the latter club, and are consigned to the UEFA cup. Groningen now have to play Ajax (14 points off 2nd place) to see which of them gets into the CL. Doesn't exactly fill one with confidence that the CL will be filled with the leading sides from each league...

I don't know how many of your posts you have misused the word 'too'. It seems to be every post. It really is annoying!

Im off to watch the legendary revolutionary Diego interview with lineker! EVERYONE watch him say that England are the only team in the world he could score that 86 wonder goal against because England are too fair, noble, and naive. Most other teams would have just cynically fouled him and chopped him up once he went past the first man. I think I remember making that point a few weeks ago on here saying england never win anything because they are too fair and naive - only to be 'laughed' at by everyone!! Hmmmmm well!

Firstly who gives a flying one about spelling like that? I don't aslong as you understand what they are saying where's the problem? If you are irritated by everything someone says then you need to sort yourself out mate. What's wrong with winning things without being dis-honest in football? The reason why maybe is because great masterpiece goals such as Maradonna's goal may not have been scored. Fouling like that means your a tw@ and who like's a tw@.

My qualifications for England manager: I have cheated on a few girlfriends back in the day. I speak English [although with an american angle] I work with teenagers with special needs, so I should relate well with half the squad.{ just teasing, I actually like the England team] I will work for a lot less moeny then Sven makes. I can also take the team all the way to the quarterfinals. My only minus might be in that I find the whole monarchy thing and royal family silly and uninteresting

That nordic guy or woman is quite unbelievable, he really needs to find another forum. Bye now nordic! Anyway i can't believe sven's insistence on wanting to take rooney to the world cup and take up on eof the strike berths when 1 he probably isn't going to playa nd secondly won't be fit if he does and will just be a liability. Leave him at home sven, ah well newcastle on missing out on europe but we did well to get there in the first place and souness almost crippled us!

Yeah the Toon have done well since Souness left. Can't you still get in Europe? Have you applied for Inter Toto? This Europe business eh! I was thinking about the Scottish places the other day, it's cool Hearts are going in to the CL but two CL places in a league of 12? I guess it's in ratio with other leagues but still seems odd in principle plus there's two UEFA places!

The silliest qualifying has to be in Holland.Where PSV are there for winning the league but 2nd,3rd,4th and 5th playoff to get in champions league.This means Ajax,who finished 5th,and were at least 20 points behind 2nd place Feyenoord,can still get there. Ridiculous!

just a thought but az were 2nd i thought because they got their champions league spot stolen, it's unbelievable and shocking, it is totally indeserved an unfair for ajax to get it. I'm not a massive dutch league fan but it really has annoyed me!
