I'm intending to go to the Fiorentina v Lecce game in a months time, and was looking for some advice on how to get hold of tickets, best stand to go in, and any other advice that you may have on this trip. What are the home fans like ? Will there be a good atmosphere ?
Have a look in the Florentia Viola thread for more information.
Tickets shouldn't be available on the day of the match, although I've heard from some sources that this isn't always the case. If the ticket booths aren't open on the day, try some of the bars around the ground as they always have tickets for sale. If you arrive in Florence a few days before the match, there is a ticket booth in the Piazza della Republica in the centre of the city.
The best stand is the Curva Fiesole, although this is sold out to season ticket holders, so unless you are lucky in one of the bars, go for the opposite Curva Marionne - still a fantastic atmosphere.
Fiorentina fans are the best in Italy, well I would say that wouldn't I! I went with a group of friends a couple of years back when we were in Serie B and they all claimed the atmosphere was the best they had ever witnessed at a football match. When were in C2B three years ago, our average attendance was still higher than may Serie A clubs.
Avoid the city centre bars as they charge tourist prices - there is a good bar at the east end of Via del Corso (might be the Borgo Degli Albizi by then) which shows Serie A matches live, or around the San Lorenzo market.
Have a good time -ask more questions there are a few Viola fans on here.
Easy to walk, about 20 minutes. There is a train station close to the ground (Campo di Marte), but the service back into Santa Maria Novella isn't that frequent. I've always walked to the ground. The stadium is in the east of the city and is easy to find.
I couldn't tell you, I have friends in Florence who get my tickets in advance. You could try e-mailing them, or else try the bars near the ground I mentioned. If you look on the Fiorentina website there is info on there about buying tickets. I can't see the game being a sell out so tickets should be easy to get.
I'm fairly sure LisTicket don't sell Fiorentina tickets on line anymore, even though there's a link on the official club site.
As Curva mentioned, you should be able to get tickets at either Bar Marisa or Bar Stadio seeing as it's not a big side that are visiting the Artemio Franchi that day, but if you want to try and get tickets before heading to the stadium, there's a few authorised sellers in the city centre.
There's one on Piazza San Giovanni (next to the Duomo) and one on Via Luigi Alamanni (next to SMN station) that I can think of off the top of my head.
Bar Stadio and Bar Marisa, both right next to the stadio, both sell tickets, I believe. You're better off going to a proper ticket stand, but if you're stuck - they're a good back-up.
