Highly disappointing though not entirely unexpected to see both Britons falling at the first hurdle in Melbourne. Henman's career is really on the slide. Even at the peak of his powers he struggled to match the pace of the likes of Sampras and the guile of the likes of Federer, Hewitt and Agassi, and now the wear and tear his body has taken, not to mention age, is really beginning to show. Tursonov is not exactly an ATP tour heavyweight but thats twice he's dumped Tim out of grand slams.
Andy Murray had a much more difficult, experienced opponent and I think we may see a different player this year. Expectations are higher and he may struggle to match last years feats. He'll be slow to get going this year, though if He qualifies I'd love to see how he gets on during the clay court season.

Henman never does that well anywhere!
Lol. But he does alot worse in Oz than anywhere else. Maybe thats what I should have said. (Although his Wimbeldon record is very good - he's just never won it!)

I'm cool Dels. Henman is past it now, I mean he was never that great but at least he was consistent and lost to decent players. Thesedays he's losing to players outside the top 50. Its time to say goodbye.
Murray is only 18, we'll be waiting a couple of years still for him to mature and develop I think. Shouldn't expect too much of him too soon, how many players have been in the top 20 at 18 years old. Even Federer couldn't manage that.

He was consistently a top-10 player for almost his entire career and considering the pedigree of tennis players produced in GB he is the tennis equivalent of Michael Schumacher!

Why did JH-H retire ? I watched the first set and from the first point she looked uncomfortable. She was sweating before Mauresmo and looked like she was finding it quite hard to breathe. Was it a weather thing or was she injured ? Felt a bit sorry for Mauresmo though. People are gonna say that she only won because of the retirements.
Oh yeah, she's a "wuss", especially against her matches with Davenport and Screamapova she showed no guts whatsoever. Infact when she loses the first set in her matches she always quits with an injury. Happens all the time.
