Was just wondering who people consider the best/loudest/most colourful, organized fans in Italy, as well as who may be the most likely to start trouble.
I only have limited experiences first hand but Fiorentina's have always looked impressive with their colour and fanfare, and Napoli's attendances down in Serie C1 have much to be admired (albeit for the larger games). Opinions?
whos the loudest/most colourful,i have no opinion on-ive never been to games i Italy so i wouldnt know and TV never gives you the whole picture. As a generalisation, though, ive always been most impressed by fans of mid-table(or worse)teams who put on a spectacle or make a noise-its easy to support a successful team noisily but not so easy to support one going nowhere fast butthese guys still do season after season.so hats off to them
Well what exactly makes the "best" fans?Is it the most colourfull, loudest, best banners?Does it matter what the banners say?Would a racist banner from Verona be acceptable because it looked good?
By "best" I thought the ones that would most leave you thinking 'wow' after seeing them at a game. Verona's have always sounded mental, thankfully it seems like the racism is dying down a bit (though I may be misguided).
Of the fans I've seen Milan's have been the most intimating, though walking out right in the middle of the curva sud probably didn't help. Will get to experience at least a few more next season, all depends on work on money over the summer (I'm a student). But anywhere makes it seems bloody boring going to games here in England.
Roma and Napoli fans are the best.. although also probably the most violent. However with the introduction of the new laws things arent what they were... although the curva sud seems to always manage to get flares in...
Genoa fans produce good efforts time and time again. Mialn's FDL were up there with them but they disbanded over 18 months ago and their curva is a mess.
Can't answer the topic subject, as my experience is very limited. But I did go notice that there was very little by the way of colour, banners and flags etc when I went to Italy vs. England at the Stadio Olympico back in 97. Though it was dam loud. Are Italians more passionate about their clubs than country I wonder ??
Colour doesn't mean they're the most passionate, any leprechaun can way a flag.
Best choreographed maybe! Curva Fiesole once posted a picture or the Curva in the Stadio Franchi of a choreographed picture of the Florence skyline which looked good.
From my experiences from the mid 90's to early 2000's the most impressive were Inter(at a derby against Milan and a Juve match), Fiorentina (their love for Batigol was most impressive), Lazio (i think the song they repeated for a full 20 minutes was right wing/ racist but it was still impressive) and perhaps surprisingly Juve (they were 4 points from the Scudetto, almost filled the Delle Alpi and provided a great atmos with flares and till rolls - although some did catch light!). I think it's difficult to tell from occassional visits as others such as Roma, Milan, Bologna and Samp weren't that impressive when i was there but that could have been to do with the opposition or their place in Serie A at the time.
