Have referee's really been as bad as the media have made them out to be or what? Understandably the performances of graham poll with the 3 yellow cards debacle was shockin and even more so valentin ivanov number of yellows and reds the most of which didn't need to be handed out. Then most recently the penalty incident with italy and the aussies, is it really time for the video's to be used or will that just destroy the discussion after games that follows on such issues? Or has the media made the referee's out to be worse than they actually are?
Yes, is my answer! But then to an extent they're just the messengers I suppose, it's the FIFA gimps that are the main problem - giving teams and skillfull players "protection". I don't really want video technology - they've got two back up refs now I think and the linesman, though I don't know what they are doing most of the time, playing pocket billiards probably, even when they see something and put they're flag up the ref gives them a scowl and they shoot it down again
