I spent 2 weeks in Lecce a few years ago and brought their kit. I've always had a soft spot for them since and always look out for their results. I was gutted when they went down stayed up and then went down again, all in one season Mad

hello, thanks for that. Yes it was so annoying.
the courts seemed to forget how the appeals would affect teams like lecce and i have to say it was unfair. But there you go.
We had sold most of our top players anyway so we could never have survived anyway.
pleased to see zemen back though, just hope we can play that attacking football like before.
Yes its a lovely part of the world so pleased you have a soft spot for us
So who do you support?

I wouldn't say I support any one Italian club but I do look out for Internazionale and Fiorentina in particular due to the players they've had in the past. I enjoy the league in general and have followed it closely from the days the Premiership became too expensive to watch.
Just when I thought Lecce were prepared to make the next step in Serie A relegation was a real shame Frown
I don't think Zemen knows any other way of playing except attacking so hopefully Lecce will be able to shoot themselves back to Serie A, although having Juve in the league will make it a bit tougher.

whotever happens i think seria a, will be very interesting this year and even new strong teams may emerge from this thus changing the whole outlook of italian football as lippi has done with the azzurri
it should be fun
yes you are right about lecce, our board got it all wrong instead of strenghtening the team they actually continued to sell players when the books at the club all balanced.
naw we must start from scratch all over again such a shame
inter i feel will do well if mancini can get a good relationship together and the wars with adriano etc will be extnguished.
Fiiorentina depends of Toni really, does he really want to stay there or not will decide this

i love Italian football but if you put a gun to my head im a Torino fan(im scottish and the great Denis Law played there in the 60s).Having had the pleasure to visit Campania and Puglia over the last decade, though, ive a soft spot for the southern teams and their results are the next i look for after Toro.Saddened to see Lecce down but hopefully theyll bounce back,it will give them some interesting southern derbies next season

Thanks stevie, very nice of you to say such nice things about my area.
My auntie has left me some land and 90 olive trees and i am planning to build a house there.
As for Torino i dare say the pressure is on them naw being that juventus is in seria b.
i hope all goes well with you guys, its time for that great club to shine again i know most of italy will think the same as well

do you not think its kind of sad to see Lecce bring on some half decent forwards in the last few years, show them the limelight and then to lose them;and then to see the careers of these bright young things stall?I thought Chevanton was destined to go to the top, what a disaster that move was to Monaco

yes that is a very good point!
never thought of it before. We do seem to find really good talent up front, however when they leave hoping to achieve better things they seem to come back to ground with a large thud.
This is very strange and i do not have a clue why this is. Perhaps the belief of the grass is greener elsewhere is not always the case.
Could it be Lecce have a good policy regarding looking after these players as opposed to the larger one?
really stuck with this one

i suspect that bad advisors or agents maybe have a lot to do with although i dont know the specifics regarding the players im talking about.
I think with some young players they play one good season and think that is it,theyre there. Then when they get told "this or that big team is looking at you" they believe the hype;they dont seem to understand that at some of the smaller teams they will play football at a high level, learning their trade while getting first team football-something they wouldnt get at one of the massive teams with a huge squad.
Lets face it,if a young striker suddenly appears on the scene with a bang in serie A this season he'll immediately be linked to the likes of Inter-imagine how difficult it would be to break into that team,no matter how talented you are

yes a good point a young player playing for a club like lecce then all of a sudden shoots up to say juventus or milan is bound to find it very difficult.
The point of advisors is also a valid one. if these players stayed with the smaller clubs longer then they would be more ready for playing for the larger teams.
it seems a bit messy to me.
last night however our ex striker is showing signs of his former self as he scored a brace for juventus (bojinov)he always keeps in contact with Zemen however and this may naw be helping him
