Never mind Forlan... why the bleedin' 'ell did Barca get rid of Requelme(sp) Eek

We were singing his praises a few seasons ago and he seems to be just as good now. Little Ronnie or not... I'd stick him in the Barca lineup.

Unlucky Chuckie, I really liked Everton's fighting spirit and attitude, but Villarreal are just technically superior.

They aren't even at full strength. They still have to Krompkamp (signed from AZ, Dutch International), Tacchinardi (you know all about him) and Valencia (Equador International with great potential) to come into the starting line up.

I think they will go very far as well.

Does anyone know where I can view the different pots for the CL draw on Friday?

Here, although the draw is this afternoon, UEFA Cup is tomorrow.

I was a bit busy last night and had decided that as soon as Villarreal scored I would not watch anymore because I thought the game was over. So I haven't seen the Collina decision that prevented extra-time or how Everton played.

Did Everton deserve something from the match? Are Villarreal justified "dark horses" for this seasons Champs league?

Not a bad draw for the Italian teams, Milan probably have the hardest group.

Wish I hadn't made those comments about Villareal yesterday, they might come back to haunt me. At least we know Forlan's weaknesses, the two goals at either end of Old Trafford are invisible to him!

Either Villarreals style suits Forlan's skills, or La Liga defenses are simply inferior to Premiership ones.

This might go a fair way to finding the truth. Big Grin

I paid a quid for these underpants, I've got 50 pence worth stuck up my arse!!!

Pelligrini has them playing some wonderful football.

I admire their club set-up. They've done well and haven't sacrificed their preffered style of play.

Very odd - United have a tricky group rather than the usual (relatively)easy canter to the next stage that the draw's produced in the past few years. Might mean we see a return to something like the form United should be able to produce in Europe?

If Arsenal mess this up, then there really is no hope for them. Thun - is that a place or an onomatopoeia from Batman?

And Liverpool and Chelsea should be reasonably happy - Chelsea shouldn't have too much bother, and Liverpool ought to be able to muster enough to get second spot in that group, which (unless the rules have changed again since they were last changed) gets a side into the second stage.

Rangers have...er.... a bit of a challenge, although if they can't get points off Artmedia Bratislava, which sounds more like an internet cafe than a football team, then they should give up...

More misery for Celtic fans if Rangers manage to beat Artmedia.

Now, now, Verno.

I was politely trying *not* to draw attention to Celtic's erm... unfortunate experience when they visited http://www.bratislavafootballnet.com...
Can't help thinking that unless Bratislava are going to turn into this year's surprise package of the competition, they may well have peaked...
