It's because they have a couple of English flops in their ranks.
Or because ITV in 2001, like Real Madrid most years, spent heaps of money on improving their football production and got arse-raped. Hence the failed industries seek to console each other.

Bloody hell, ITV really have a hard on for Real Madrid. The reverence with which they are treated amuses and sickens me. Proves once again that ITV no eff all about European football. I was very pleased with Arsenal's performance tonight, a real team effort. They played some decent footie and really should scored more than once. Beckham ran around like a maniac as usual with no end result. He seemed to be the only one up for it though.

It was only Real madrid, ITV are still drooling all over them, why?! They haven't won anything for a while.
God knows. But why include that quote? There's no denying it was a big game for Arsenal.
Mardrid are the inform team in spain, apart from that zaragoza blip. Arsenal were 7-1 to win in Spanish bookmakers.
I paid a quid for these underpants, I've got 50 pence worth stuck up my arse!!!

Henry's class. He's great with his feet (an obvious asset in football), passing, shooting etc and he's got good vision, but he still can't head can he? Last night Reyes early in the first half sent in a great cross and he headed wide from a relatively straightforward opportunity. He did however set up what should've been two goals prior to that for Reyes and Ljungberg (one each, that is). I'm watching the replay of that game now and the first 10 mins have been noteworthy for something else. Anyone notice R Carlos' well-timed tackle to prevent a goal or penalty on Ljungberg? That's right folks...Carlos and....defending! Makes you wonder what's coming next.

As daft as this may sound, I'm sure I heard a small section of the Chelsea crowd giving Eto'o the monkey grunts last night. Someone suggested that it may have been the Barcelona supporters shouting "Eto'o! Eto'o! Eto'o!", but I'm not convinced. Didn't Eto'o get in trouble a few months back, after Barca beat the Royals, because he reacted to their retarded chants? I'm sure he made it clear that (perhaps unsurprisingly) this sort of behaviour really winds him up, and I wouldn't put it past the Stamford Bridge 'loyals'...

Didn't hear it myself. Wouldn't be surprised though. Certain chants involving Jews are usually heard whenever Tottenham visit the mudbath known as Stamford Bridge.

I haven't spoken to anyone who did Michael, except for one punter at work who "thinks he might have heard something", but he's one of those guys who likes to lie humour people. I may be wrong, and I hope I am, but it definitely sounded like monkey grunts to me. The animosity is coming back in to terrace chants these days. Last Saturday, in response to Liverpool's incessant 'Munich' songs, the Man United support responded in kind with '96 was not enough', in reference to Hillsborough, and some song about Kenneth Bigley I couldn't quite make it (there was a 'lose your head' reference in there). People may or may not find the above offensive, but Man United's travelling support used to pride itself on not referring to tragedies in other club's pasts while singing. The gloves are off now though.

Death transcends football rivalry. Sick stuff from both sides but if Liverpool sang about Munich then they leave themselves exposed to the Hillsborough chants.

- if this is true then singing should be banned at grounds per se. football appears to be stuck in a timewarp from the dark ages and since most football chants are offensive in some way i think that the authorities need to clean the game up and take action against the offenders.

If? They start before kick-off and don't stop. Tar Leeds United and even your beloved City with the same brush, even though some City nob-end perished in the Munich air crash too. I should point out that I'm glad that the animosity is back (racist taunts aside). Liverpool last weekend was a good example. It's all too easy to stand up, arms outstretched, and simulate a plane crashing to the ground, or tear out pages of your match program and make them in to paper aeroplanes to throw at whichever Man United player is closest to you. It's about time we started giving it back. I've worked out what that song was too: "Where th f**k, where the f**k, Where the f**k is Bigley's head? Have you eaten Bigley's head?"

It seems like it's only us that heard it then, which is a shame. If more people had heard it then Chelsea would be punished by UEFA and it turn would hopefully try and weed out these morons. quote: Originally posted by Markieboy: How do you know he was a "nob end" Mezz? He was probably an ok guy.
I have as much proof that he was a nob-end as you do that he was 'probably an ok guy', but I take your point. However, seeing as neither of us know for sure, I'll maintain that he was a nob-end because of his connection to the 'not rights'

Would it be indelicate to point out that Sir Matt Busby was a Man City player (and Liverpool, for that matter)?
