Seems like the Forum *editor* has once again culled all of the threads relating to our little betting league - And, once again, there's no explanation as to why - i'm not sure what to do next, an explanation would be nice Ed.....
2. We have two moderators: one who posts results to help, and another who deletes threads without explanation. The two of them aren't co-ordinating.
3. Someone is complaining about the threads, but doesn't have the wherewithall to engage in debate, and just presses the little warning triangle buttons...
Whatever the reason, it would be very helpful if the person deleting the thread (is this the third time it's gone now?) could explain what's wrong. The thread doesn't appear to contravene the terms and conditions for the site, since no money changes hands. So could we, please, have some hint of what on earth is the matter with the thread?
I suppose that, as C4 is funded by my taxes, I could always write to Andy Duncan to ask him to explain, given that one of the people with responsibility for the site is too ill-mannered to give a short explanation on line. Or perhaps John D Taylor might like to explain instead.
It's not too much to ask for a small display of good manners is it?
This is a joke Ed. I would've won about 35 quid this week!!! If you're going to delete a thread at least have the decency to tell us lot why. We're not using real money so I don't see how we're bending any rules, and as far as I know no one has posted a link to a betting site and even if they had you could just as easily delete the individual post not the whole thread.
I have backups of everything, but it's pointless to continue with a new game until we have some kind of explanation - It seems more than likely that someone has taken offence and made some kind of complaint, there's nothing to stop it from happening again.....
Come on Ed, Tell us why you got rid of the thread. To be totaly honest you do a bit of a crap job on the forum, you don't seem to do much apart from ruin a little bit of fun which harmed no one. I don't think anyone could have taken offence to the thread so WHY did you delete the tread yet again without an explanation.
CC, I think you may be a bit unfair. I suspect that the FI Ed is more than one person, and that the problem lies with the one who can't be bothered to interact with the consumer. He/she would do well to reflect on what happened to Marks and Spencers when they failed to communicate with their customers...
I suppose the thread might have disappeared by accident and RedEd is as baffled as the rest of us but it would still be nice to hear somethingfrom the powers that be.
Perhaps musical communication would work? In the words of Banks/Collins/Rutherford:
"Talk to me, you never talk to me. Ooh, it seems that I can speak. But I can hear my voice shouting out. But there’s no reply at all.
Listen to me, you never listen to me, Ooh, and it seems there’s no way out, I’ve been trying, but we cannot connect, And there’s no reply at all, There’s no reply at all, There’s no reply at all, No reply at all..."
(repeat ad nauseaum until someone can be bothered)
I can't see much point pursuing this until we have an explanation from the FIEd.
What makes this doubly ludicrous is that there certainly once was a betting guide on the Football Italia website. So it is not as if we are doing anything that the website has not encouraged. I despise gutless jobsworths.
It seems that the only thing that never changes on this forum is the moderator's infuriating tendency not to explain what is going on. Oh for the good old format where we could let off steam by setting up acrostic topics. I fondly remember finding things to say about
I don't really want to go to the bother of logging onto another website to play this game. We should be allowed to play it here as we were doing nothing wrong.
