I am a young at heart 50 year old female I am in need of help and advice to design a working wardrobe which will look stylish but needs to be practical to facilitate my job as a nurse manager in mental health. the clothes I require will need to see me through meetings and also allow me to participate in practical patient care. I do not wear skirts at work so advice around trousers tops and blouses please. I am 5ft 9ins tall medium to large build and struggle to find clothes that or long enouh in the body. I will appreciate any help. Thankyou
I find wrap tops a god send and wear them for work quite often. Teamed with a nice necklace it looks smart/casual.
I'm 5ft 8 and find tops a bit short -New Look do a tall range and I'm sure Dorothy Perkins do too?
I remember hearing on Trinny & Susannahs prog that trousers that fasten on the side can help to cover any sins and avoid detailed pockets on the front.
Wearing one (or very similar colours) help to slim down the body too.
Thankyou wobbletastic for your reply, Unfortunately I think in some cases you could be correct, perhaps they should seek help from members of this forum for advice.

It's these damn low rise jeans. It gives even the smallest waist the 'muffin top' effect.
I agree with Mrs Diddy re- low rise jeans. They do present a problem for people like myself who have problems trying to conceal a more than ample abdominal area.

Kylie has been spotted sporting some and Topshop have got some in.
Yay! About time, we are not all teenagers, but still wish to wear jeans eh! I've lost weight, but am not a teenager anymore, so confidence is lacking, and even though I wear jeans that have a lowish waist, I have some baggy t-shirts to not show off anything undesirable!!
Oooooo! Shoulder pads, loved them, and sadly in their day, leg warmers, obviously, was abit of a stick insect then, so looked ok, down the gym that is!!
I'm not too sure about advice for tall people, as i'm only 5ft 2. But for the work clothes, you could try wearing smart trousers, a coloured t-shirt, and then a fitted suit jacket on top, and high heeled boots, then when you're in the office you'll look smart and when you need to be more casual, just remove your jacket. Hope that helps, sorry i couldn't give any advice about longer t-shirts etc.
OOoh, sorry, didn't realise you had another arrow to your bow, as in being artistic!! Do you do much life art work. I can only copy stuff, but have never been able to draw people!
thanks to those who have looked at and given replies to my request for fashion advice. I appreciate your input, I will now add T shirts to my shopping list. Was Thursdays show the last in this series does anyone know.? Has anyone ever met Nicky by the way. Nicky.????
