Hi I am 19 years old and for as long as I can remember I have had stretch marks on my thighs. I am a size 8 and have no idea why I have them or how to get rid of them. Does anybody know? Is there a cure? Thanks!

Hi

I've had for as long as I remember too! (I'm 25)

It's from growing quickly not putting weight on. I've always been slim but nothing cures the dreaded marks!

They have faded as I've got older - the only thing I've ever used is Palmers Cocoa Butter.

Most women get some regardless of size so I wouldn't worry too much. Frown

Tallpoppy, I am 38 and never had stretchmarks. Must be genes but also I exercise every day since I was 16 and don't drink or smoke. Also I tend to eat only good things. Italians use creams for stretch marks, I have some friends who use a very expensive machine (found in different places in London) called PowerPlate (google it for more info and you might find it in your area). Sessions are £15/30min targetting all areas or you can choose your own exercises.

add extra zinc and vitamin e in your diet, only surgery will get rid of them but they will fade and tanning will diminish appearance. a hell of alot of people have em.

Thank you all you guys! You are lucky MrsDiddy, I'm 5ft1, and ella111 I really hate your good luck! I am probably the only uni student who doesn't drink or smoke and I also exercise regularly but i really am not as dedicated as you. I always thought that loosing weight would get rid of them but even that hasn't worked!! Thanks skyepark for the excellent advice and I will deff try to do tht!!

lol...no! i researched and found that tallpoppy means completely original or something like that, so that'a why I decided to use it. Sadly it has nothing to do with my height! Frown

Hey I'm a size 8 too and have them on my upper thighs and a few on my bum. Nothing cures them but they fade to a silvery white which is hardly noticeable. A lot of women have them, and you'll prob get a fair few when you have kids, so I really wouldn't worry. Mine don't bother me at all :-)

I have the exact same problem! I'm a size 6 and have had stretch marks on my thighs for a while too, I got something from Avon which has faded them a good bit though!

I have four children and have not got a stretch mark I do think it could be in the genes as my sisters are the same,I dont think once you have got them you can do anything to make them dissappear. Smile
