When washing my hair I do the final rinse with Volvic. The natural pH makes hair feels so soft. For on the go styling I spray hair with Volvic to give it extra shine.

Yep, and if you want the same effect a bit cheaper, filtered water (Brita etc) has the same effect.

Once a week, after exfoliating, slap extra rich cream moisturizer (doesn't have to be expensive) on feet and hands. Do your feet first and put on so much that it's still all white. wrap your feet, leaving out the toe area, with clingfilm and put on a pair of old socks. repeat with hands, this time put on latex, or if you're allergic vinyl, gloves and put white gloves on top. leave on overnight. you'll have gorgeously soft skin and the effects last amazingly long.

Skin Care Tips
Money saver

Hooked on using disposable cleansing cloths or facial wipes for cleaning your face? Since these packages are convenient but costly, take the time to cut each cloth in half when you buy the package. With a little extra effort you gain twice as many cleansing cloths and save some money in the process.
Exfoliate, exfoliate

For a fast, at-home body exfoliation, mix olive oil with sea salt or sugar. Smooth over skin in circular motions all over the body, avoiding the breast area. Rinse off in the shower and apply your favourite moisturizer.
Body brush

Dry brushing your skin before a shower is a great way to stimulate the natural oil glands in your body. Using a natural bristle body brush, start at your feet and lightly “brush” your skin in a circular motion. Follow by a warm shower and slather your body with your favourite moisturizer.
Hand moisturizer

For regular, well-moisturized hands, keep hand cream on your desk at work or in the car. Apply the cream throughout the day to rejuvenate your cuticles and keep skin saturated.
Natural cleansers

Dip into your fridge for facial cleansers when your regular cleanser runs out. In a pinch buttermilk, yogurt and even cream are gentle, natural skin cleansers.
Moisturizer alternative

Instead of using a cream moisturizer after you bath or shower, rub almond oil (available at your local health food store) into your skin for a treat. Combined with a few drops of your favourite essential oil (peppermint, lavender or neroli) it will leave your skin smooth and supple.
Make shaving easier

An easy way to avoid razor burn after shaving is to moisturize beforehand. While shaving cream is the most popular method, try prepping your leg with hair conditioner for a few minutes before shaving. It will hold moisture on the leg longer and provide a very smooth shave.
Tired eye solution

Need to get rid of tired or puffy eyes immediately? Keep a spoon in the freezer and apply to eyelids for a few minutes to reduce redness.

I've got some. And one of them I could swear has kept the lines off my face - I'm 52 now but I'm lucky enough to have people thinking I'm in my early forties - and sometimes younger than that.

I haven't used cleaning products on my face for about fifteen years now. What I do use is water with essential oil - I have a bottle which holds about 200mls water. In that when I fill it up again I put about two drops of pure lavender oil and two drops of geranium oil. Shake it all up. The I use cotton pads with this to remove my make up - and it all comes off because you're using oil in suspension to take oil off. Works like a dream.

For a night care option I just use sweet almond oil with two or three drops of frankincense, two or three drops of lavender (and maybe a drop of rose oil if I'm feeling extravagent). Then I take time to smooth this in and gently massage my forehead especially where frown lines might appear, and anywhere lines might form. I swear this got rid of the deep creases between my eyes - a combination of the massage and the oil did the trick.

Exercise. Can't beat it. Not suggesting that everyone has to be super thin but just to keep one's body well oiled and to keep the circulation flowing well. Plus it gives you an endorphin kick.

Smile. Smile. Smile. Smile. Smile. Did I say smile? Cool

Here's another.

For really soft hands in a hurry, exfoliate them. I've used a number of things - foot scrub / a little almond oil with some sand in it or sometimes rock salt. Put about enough to cover a 10p coin in your palms and just 'wash' your hands - in and around your fingers, the backs of the hands as well as the palms, and include your wrists too - feels great. Do this over the sink otherwise all the dead skin falls into your lap or on the floor Witch Keep 'washing' them until the carrier oil / cream has been absorbed and then keep rubbing to get that skin really exfoliated. It really does come off!

Then rinse your hands and wrists to get rid of the rest of the stuff. Don't wash them. Just feel how soft they are! Wow. Then slather on moisturiser.

Soft as a baby's rear end Big Grin

Thanks- this is a great tip! And the lavender at the end of the day is wonderful - I've slept so much better since doing this!

You say that you've been told you look much much younger than your years - but is that down to good genes? Did your mother have great skin, or is it actually down to your skincare routine?

That's sick. You know that younger, non-pervy people come on these forums. For shame, old man.

I think he's a dirty young man, not old, then again it could be argued that he's not in fact dirty at all considering what he just openely admitted...LOL

Wobbletastic..."L'Oreal, because he/she's worth it." Mind you, I have to say, I find Pantene is a simply fabulous shampoo and conditioner.

Scurries out of thread quickly.

Pantene is known to coat your hair and give only a fake shine. I use herbal essences...much better.

Lemon is a great face cleanser.
Drink 8 glasses of water everyday
At least 3 diary products everyday like cheese, yoghurt milk.
Eat raw fish at least twice a week.
The olive oil or honey with sugar or salt is a good one, it makes your body soft.

Not smoking helps to reduce the chance of getting wrinkles, reduce having dull lifeless hair and skin and reduces the chance of producing the hormone that makes acne.

Use egg white with honey and lemon as a face mask.
And to make your nails white, dip it in either lemon or a drop a denture cleaner tablet into water and dip nails in there for 10 mins.

If blonde hair goes green after swimming, if you put tomato ketchup on it & leave it in for about 10 mins or so then the green tinge will vanish.

RE: make-up tips
when using fondation use a sponge! it applies much evenly. Blend fondation into neck it makes it look a lot more natural.Apply a little heavier just under your cheekbone to give defintion. Then to combat any nasty shine a touch of powder.

For eyes choose a colour the same as your eyes. other good colours you can find out on the internet because im afraid i dont now many but deep purple with green eyes is good! Apply mascar on upper lashes downwards fist for proper coating and upwards use a zig-zag motion. great!seriously!

For cheeks use a light reflecting cream blusher witha pinky tinge. maybelline has a great one with spf 15!

try to match your lips and cheeks for paler skins light pinks and lipy with a orangy tinge. for 'normal' skin tones just go with pretty much anything, NEVER wear bright colours if you don't have white teeth! and stick to skin colours if your over 40 unless you look like sharon stone! think realisticly people! and finally for olive tone skin go with goldy lip tones with the odd darker pinker if you aren't the above (the white/40 bit) maybe even a coral if your feeling feisty!!! Wink
hope this helps!!! check out my 'simple secrets' 'skin care' tips.

I've been using *Simple* baby wipes instead of my usual expensive face wipes, for a month now.
They're lovely, fragrance free etc and a third of the price. Smile
