My teeth...well they're just rubbish. I have holes that need fillings almost everywhere. I want to visit a dentist but I know this can be expensive, plus the last time I had a filling the dentist drilled into the muscle under my tounge.

I saw this programme and they were getting something like, i think it's called ven-ers. How much does this cost and also can anyone suggest anything to do.

please help

Kayleighxx

Hi.

They were talking about veneers. If you think the dentist was expensive, think again. Veneers are things which celebs have which make all teeth straight, white, identical. They are like a permanant set of new teeth, and cost THOUSANDS.

I've got a brilliant dentist who doesn't come cheap but is worth every £. My mother lost all her teeth in her forties and made me promise to do everything I could to keep mine, because as she put it, teeth are the foundation of your face shape and when they go, your youth goes along with them. A good smile kids everyone you are years younger and is a better investment than clothes.

Have you thought about the relatively new procedure ~ Lumineers? I think they are a lot more reasonably priced than veneers, but have the same effect, creating a perfect smile, could be worth researching?

Dawnthief, I never had good teeth because of lack of calcium and some 6 years ago I had veneers put overseas. It cost me some £600 for all upper teeth. Make some friends who come from Hungary, Romania etc and then visit them. Three weeks later you will be a happier person.

I cannot think of a better and cheaper advise.

If dentist made veneers cheaper more women could afford to look half decent. It's unfair that this sort of treatment is the preserve of the rich.

I am just starting a very long course of dental treatment which will end up costing in excess of £12,000. It will consist of 'Invisaline' braces for major overcrowding and straightening. These are American in origin, and are an invisible transparent form of braces. I will then need lots of crowns and cosmetic work. I am 50 years old, and can ill afford the money. I am prepared to give up all luxuries, and keep my living expenses to the bare minimum to pay for it. I am doing this for myself, to give me the confidence to smile properly. It is worth the financial sacrifices, to make me happy with my appearance. I felt tempted by cheap foreign treatment prices, but what happens if you have problems afterwards??? (You are not exactly around the corner, and they 'may' just wash their hands of you!!!)

well MrsD, pity you do not concentrate on positive things than to do some internet stalking and then being nasty to people you don't know. They say beauty comes from inside, also one should be more thoughtful with the age.....

I had veneers put on my teeth, and it is one of the best things I've ever, ever done. Veneers aren't that much! I had 4 veneers and some whitening treatment and it cost around £2000. Less than a boob job! Each veneer cost £400. I think that it's a small outlay and it has boosted my confidence no end.

Think how much you spend on a holiday, a new sofa etc. All those things are material, and not so many people see those things. Your teeth are part of you and can actually make you feel really better about yourself.

I only started to smile properly after I had my teeth done.

Pass me the remote love.....

I was at the dentist the other day and he told me most dentists worth their salt have stopped using veneers.

I dont know if going abroad for dentists is a good idea, if something goes wrong and it very well could, that can cause huge problems.
