Browsing through the old posts in the forum I've found a lot of people who hate The IT Crowd.

You know they hate it enough to go out of their way and post about how much they hate it.

I think it's really weird. I don't always agree on TV programmes with my immediate work colleague. For example he's into The Bill - I haven't watched it since the eighties, I'm glued to CSI - he's never really watched it, the list goes on. Recently we both agreed that House is brilliant and of course The IT Crowd.

I mean honestly we thought The IT Crowd was true to life, funny, well-written, well-acted, fresh, original, etc. We were glued to our screens each time an episode became available. We'd get to work, take off our coats and download the latest episode.

What I'm getting at is this. I know obviously people have different tastes but... I know The IT Crowd is excellent and hits all the right buttons for me so why is it such a big miss for so many other people?

Other things I love ... The Catcher in the Rye, high powered rifles, clock towers.

... Becase people have different tastes and preferences...

Could be that not everyone gets the IT Crowd humour. I think you've got to have worked in an IT department to know how geeky the conversation can be and how 'them and us' the culture is.

I know that's the case where I work, and I couldn't stop laughing at the IT Crowd it was so on the button. My wife on the other hand couldn't stand it.

im sorry but i find it hard to find that a just reason for hating the show. i have friends who dont work in IT who loved the show and people who have worked in IT for about 5 years and cant stand the show. i think it comes down to sence of humour, i prefer the office becuase it is intelligent reaally well acted and often you get a sense of a real office and ofren feel entertained but a little awkward. the it crowd is more about one liners, sillyness and i personally didnt enjoy it. this u will see if you look at the channels which feature the shows. bbc 2- the office- is more an intellectual channel hence newsnight lol. channel 4 sucsessfully appeals mainly to teens and 20 somethings due to the freshness of the shows. they are both unique comedies but the it corowd didnt work for me

thats a long post- u probably didnt read it- its not exactly funny or interesting just my opinion. im on too late as it is im only 16 and i need sleep lol well night
