I finally managed to download episode 3 (thanks to the corrected link info in this forum) but the playback only gives pixellated garbage and no sound.. Episodes 1 and 2 were fine... Has episode 3 been encrypted in some way?? I should mention that I am _not_ using MSWindows...
they put up the link wrong... try typing it in without the underscore after the word 'episode'... mind you that'll only work if you live in the uk...

I was suspicious about possible DRM corruption, so I ran the 'pixellated' file using MS Media Player under Win2K using VMWare, and got linked to a C4 'Big Brother' website that wanted me to register to 'view' the content, and then this process appeared to 'hang' - probably as I was using Firefox instead of MSExplorer..
I had tried using mplayer and xine on Linux (Fedora Core 4) previously...
I had first tried the mms://edge.channel4.com/theitcrowd/episode_3.wmv file link, but that 404ed, and the only one that worked was the http://edge.channel4.com/theitcrowd/episode3.wmv link that gave the pixellated file (and I tried more than once, using both #wget on the http:// link, and #mplayer.......-dumpstream on the mms:// link..)
Same problem here No-one on the irc channel I used managed to get it working (I'm a linux/MPlayer user too and the windows users were unwilling to download any DRM patches so they couldn't pay it either...)
PLEASE channel4, cut it out with the DRM rubbish!
If you're going to make programmes available, stop being platformist, make the things available to all UKers, rather than just windows users who don't mind knobbling their systems with DRM.
Re Ep 3 not playing (reply found on ds) "That's because the link on that site is wrong. They've used the mms prefix for wmv instead of plain old http."
