Gee, thanks C4 for FINALLY authing my account.
I thought TITC was brilliant -- I've not laughed so much in ages -- but it clearly divides people. Just look at the splits in the newspapers.
But why are so many people saying they hated "every second of it"? I don't believe you. If it was "agonising", you would have turned it off.
Either you are a) fantastically lazy, or b) lying.
In particular, casting Katherine as Jen was inspired. Well done to everyone on such a funny show.
People moaning -- get a grip.

Yes, yes, YES!!!!
The IT Crowd was fantastic. The studied cynicism of those on the forum who dissed it makes me sick - it's a new comedy, it therefore takes a bit of time to get off the ground, thus the second episode was much funnier than the first, so stop being such pompous Office-loving snobs.
ALL comedy has lame gags in it, but it's how they pull them off that counts (Father Ted is full of lame gags, but the acting makes it funny). And boy, they really pull it off - it goes without saying that Moss is the star, although Jen's toes had me wetting myself. I actually couldn't hear the next five minutes of the episode because I was still laughing. A sign of a good comedy for me is if it still makes me chuckle when I think about it and the IT Crowd certainly does. Thanks C4 for giving us a non-acidic, friendly, happy, silly sitcom and avoiding all the "reality-comedy" tricks that are now such cliches (I can't stand most of Extras - it's just excruciating).

Most of these people would go for B... they just don't want to admit they see bits of themselves or people they know within the show.

the. best. comedy. ever. FULL STOP. i didnt stop laughing after about the first five minutes, and i am definatly going to get it on dvd when it comes out, i have to own that, it just brightens my day thinking about it! i spent the half an hour after it had finished laughing about the screensaver joke! yes, i'll admit it was predictable, and a bit inaccurate in its portrayal of geeks, but i thought it was BRILLIANT and i normally cant stand slapstick-y type comedy, but geeky-slapstick -- genius!! "Dear Sir/Madam, Fire 'Exclamation mark', Fire 'Exclamation mark', Help Me 'Exclamation mark'...look forward to hearing from you soon, yours sincerely, Maurice Moss" RooRoo'Do Not Disturb' aka 'Leave Me Alone' aka 'Go Away' aka 'Don't Open The Door!!' 'Lister...Is that a cigarette you're smoking?' ... 'No...It's a chicken!' 'Tama...home...' *CALLING ALL GUESTS, CALLING ALL GUESTS... POST, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!! IF YOU ARE READING THIS REPLY, EVEN IF YOUR JUST GONNA YELL AT ME!...Please... *

I was watching it while on my pc, just to see what all these adverts and hype were about. I continued watching as I'd read posts here saying it was good. It gave me a perspective on how rubbish things can turn out, very dissapointed from all that hype. I find it interesting no one from 'The IT Crowd' is on this forum to provide feedback, thanks or anything. Very unjustified and inaccurate exaggeration of a stereotype, causing offence.

No matter how good it is, what's the point if we can't see it?

And you didn't like it? Its just a silly family comedy, nothing more, nothing less. Some people just don't wan't to see it that way. quote: It gave me a perspective on how rubbish things can turn out, very dissapointed from all that hype.
I believe that it delievered what it promised, it promised a show about an IT Dept, and thats what we got quote: I find it interesting no one from 'The IT Crowd' is on this forum to provide feedback, thanks or anything.
I am from 'the IT crowd', and believe i am the most frequent poster in this forum. There have been loads of other people who work in IT who have posted here, you just need to read all the threds. quote: Very unjustified and inaccurate exaggeration of a stereotype, causing offence.
Im not offended.... I haven't met anyone who works in IT who was offended by it. I find it to be an accurate representation of some of the kind of people which you would find in a IT, or Tech Support department, if not bits and bats from different people within an IT Dept. molded into two people.
