I was referring to the minority who are not out to speak their minds but wind other people up
you'll see them more when big brother is back on
Just to give an example so that you know what I mean.
I once volunteered on an open forum allowing people with emotional problems someone to talk to. Someone came on there saying they were hurting. I started to talk to them and they were saying things just winding up (nothing I can post on here as sexual in nature).
they usually just seem to log on to say something offensive - often about someone else on the forum. Their posts tend to get deleted quite quickly but love them or hate them - it keeps things interesting
discussion on likes/dislikes are to be encouraged though and I'd love to hear more of your opinions Todstein
It is a good clever comedy which plays on stereotypes in such a manner it becomes funny plus there are some great quotes and one liners, which are delivered with excellent timing. not to state the fact it funny.

The IT crowd is funny without being crass (which is rare these days! Most sitcoms have sexual innuendo/connotations > boring!!). For those who don't like it, relate to the characters. We've all been there! The IT crowd livens up the office, it nurtures quirky characters and encourages people to come up with their own anecdotes/one liners. What makes IT crowd so funny is that it's based on reality, if you've never met real life characters like that on IT crowd, where have you been? Planet ~Q? If we can't laugh at ourselves being human, what hope is there?

The characters have no depth, which was shown by Richmond, the only character who seemed to have some sort of depth to him.
The fact it's based on reality is one of the reasons it fails, because it's based on reality, so much is expected of it.
The show got backing/funding due to the people involved which obviously makes everyone think it should be good, I'll give it a try. When they see how dull/boring the show is and how flat the characters are they really feel let down.
