You could be right!! Hadn't thought much about the order...must pay attention! Basically if they said it once it wouldn't be funny, what makes me laugh is no matter what's gong on when they see each other it's "hey...."
Pretty sure it's Earl that says it first - and it makes me laugh even though I know it's coming! You're right though, it's because the most awful calamity can be occurring that should rightly result in the two of them punching each other's lights out, and they just greet each other like they've met in the pub! Excellent!
