I'm looking forward to this show so much. That could end up coming back to bite me in the butt, but I hope it's good.
SYNOPSIS: "Earl Hickey wins the lottery, but is knocked over by a car which leads to him discovering karma and setting off on a mission to right his wrongs with the help of his brother Randy, and their friend Catalina.
i saw the ads for it a week or two back and kept it in my plans to watch it.i thought it was pretty good actually, the whole idea of the show is great and tonight with the spray laughed at it in the ads and tonight! looking forward to the next one
ok, i have a diffrent view i didn't exactly like the episode, it was ok and it's great that set in out-doors but how dumb is Earl-i'm sorry second kid who wasn't his son-it rather obvious who the father was, i admit if there more 1 afican american on show you wouldn't be sure but there 1 and kid had same hair-style.
Another thing i didn't like was when he found out guy he needed to help was Gay, that promotes wrong message don't you think?, yes he did help him after his ex-wife hits him over the head with telephone, i don't think she entitled to money since she divorced him while in hospital, that awful.
lastly he said 123 more to go- so what happends after 123th episode of this show? if it get cancelled before that, it's fine but it survived writer can't make up bad things he done because people would remember pilot.
Some valid points there, bala. Maybe he'll end up creating more problems for himself, but I didn't hear him say there were 123 things on the list
I don't think I really burst out laughing while watching the pilot, but I enjoyed it thoroughly nonetheless. This show has a degree of wit about it that is rarely found in lesser quality, gut buster, laugh-a-minute comedies. There is a definitely a human touch to My Name is Earl. He is a character many of us can identify with and is surrpunded by lovable versions of the poor white trash that many of us find living in the house next door.
I hope the show can maintain this heartfelt ambience and that it won't succumb to the silliness that is rampant in many of today's comedies. And Randy rules!

It was obvious to earl the kid wasn't his but he took the kid on apparently he loved his wife this could have been the good thing he did to get the lotto ticket in the first place.

i did really like the show, had the laughter meter going for me, so i will continue watching. I especially loved the narrative role earl plays with all the flashbacks as well the characters! randy rated top for me personally.
