Why do they always have to ruin this programme by providing us with a moral message at the end of each episode?... "whilst I realised that stealing a photocopier and giving a kind elderly man back his business was a good thing to do, what was more important was spending time with your friends, the people that matter" and so on. It's almost as bad as that dull bit they tacked on the end of He-Man every week, when they knew all we wanted was more closeups of She-Ra.
I know it's an American show, but Jeez, give us a rest. I don't wanna be told how to live my life, I just want to laugh. *makes mental note to stick to Green Wing instead*
All she needs is therapy. All she needs is love, is all she needs.
Karma works in a circle...every beginning has an end. I think the moralising is quite light in MNIE. It is an amusing show with strong characters and, if you want, a moral ('do good') edge.

I would have to disagree, I don;t think it ruins it at all, if your not happy with it, don't watch it at all

If you just want to laugh, watch something that makes YOU laugh rather then this show as from what I'm aware of this show doesn't...

Nah I didn't take it personally lol, I just got the impression you were not to keen on the whole show itself besides that I actually don't mind them bits, for me those bits make the show for what it is...

haha, funny. if you want dumbass comedy with nothing but crappy old jokes and cheesy one-liners then go watch family guy.
this show is supposed to make you feel good and insight a bit of thought thats all. its not out to change the friggin' world or anything so stop moaning about it.
besides, most ppl choose to ignore any moral meaning and enjoy it simply for its comedy value anyway.

I actually enjoy both Family Guy and My Name Is Earl actually conduit...

In my case, it fails.

Fails.
The show is too formulaic, in my opinion. We are allowed opinions, you know. So don't tell me 'not to watch the show' because I bloody have to when I am at my friends on a Friday, plus it's a stupid thing to say anyway. This isn't the 'My name is Earl' fansite, it's a forum, for opinions. C4forums are going to hell more and more each week.
Plus what's it doing on at night, at a good slot, on a Friday? It should be on at 6 on a Sunday or something.

Fair enough if your forced to watch it lol, but yer... I doubt they would be able to put it on at 6:00 considering it contains the odd risky word/adult contents etc. I'm happy with the slot it's got now, it suits me

Originally posted by conduit: but the topic creator said that the producers are "ruining the show" by attempting to convey some kind of moral lesson, which imo is unreasonable.
because thats supposed to be the whole idea of the show. its like criticising family guy for having too many jokes.
but maybe I was refering more to the way in which the topic creator conveyed his/her opinion. it did sound a tad aggressive. ..or should I say passionate?

But every show is open for criticism! And the original poster made a point properly, and if you look around the forums, that is getting rarer and rarer these days, I'd savour it!
