I don't think it is anywhere as good as the english version.

the english version was more urban and gritty, the us series seems very vanilla and squeaky clean, and I don't particularly like any of the characters,

How come the Yanks get a 4th series and we don't get a 3rd, let alone a 4th??

The UK version didn't get more series's because RTD felt that it was best to wrap it up and leave it as the masterpiece that it is. He did start writing a full series for series two but decided against it. I have to say I feel he was right! It is amazing as it is. Shows can get kinda watered down when story lines get dragged out (now matter how good the writing!) I bought it on DVD last year ( I know I know I was late getting round to it. Only just got a DVD player then!!!) and have watched it countless times since. Just wanted to know if the US verion would be coming out(or is available) on DVD in the UK. Its on at stupid o'clock and have missed large chunks of it. Gets very confusing.

I read that the American QAF will be out bot exclusively to hmv, I honestly cant get away with the american version, I just dont buy it.
Tales of the city however is a masterpiece, Ch4 just released Tales and More tales and I love them.
They need to start showing Further tales now that they have another ch4 channel.
