emma - yes i love that part in the bar and the way they all toast the doctors after everything they went through!! the irony! also i dont know if you know this but the gentleman faith is sitting opposite her in the bar is her real-life husband. he's called dk and is a firefighter in the show!!

hey cathy! yeah he was an ass in that scene with that poor woman. it did make me laugh though that while she was sitting there on the verge of killing herself, bosco was checking the time, and so obviously unconcerned by her!!

*grins* ... didn't actually notice that they were sat opposite each other, but I did know that they were married! (Twas Carlos and Levine that shocked me!) ... Molly and DK must have been just married when these episodes were filmed ...

Another brilliant episode! And as emma said, the cracks in doc’s mental health did begin to appear in this series and i thought Michael Beach did a great job in this ep showing how uncomfortable Doc is with his ‘Papa Bear’ status….

Some of my favourite moments were carlos’s discussion with doc about alex in the beginning, and his patronising concern when she shows up….and doc’s perfect description of him as an ‘acquired taste’!!

Kim and doc’s encounter with ‘crazy laydeeee!!’ - my sisters and I have been screeching it all day the way kim does in the bus…!!

Favourite bosco moment: as we didn’t see much of Him in this ep, for me there’s a clear winner here - The diner scene where He bullies the poor newbie. i would feel sorry for geesler, but his nervousness around bos is too funny! actually that whole diner scene is great - everyone's reaction to kim's huge order and then carlos's entrance, was classic tw.

Hey, nice to see that this thread has been brought back to life, am remembering to tape these eps but I haven't had a chance to see them yet - will prob do a marathon viewing on the weekend - but I'm pretty sure that I didn't see the Sept 10th ep but I think I did catch some of S3.

Anyway good to see TW back on TV - shame about the late night eps - my sis says that some of the eps shown are dubbed as the language is prob unsuitable for daytime viewing - sounds annoying - I wish they would just show it later with no cuts!

It's really odd... I've seen this entire series before, yet I really didn't notice Doc going consistently nuts this early in... I thought it was breaking the kids neck that did it... but it appears he really was losing it well before hand...

... I love Carlos... he really is a superb charachter... I especially love how he grows through the series... he's another one of those self absorbed charachters that I really just can't help loving!

Poor Geesler... he's nervous around everyone, and much too nervous to be a cop... but I'm sure we'll find that out in a week or so!

BTW... are Alex and Ty already together? ... if not what was going on with them at the meal???

... 'tis a real shame they aren't showing the late night episodes... and as I remember the last time they showed these episodes they were really badly cut... to the extent that for at least some of them I had to read the online synopsis to find out what happened... the big shoot out with the Russian mafia is just one example... as your sis said they've also been cut for language... of course often you can see exactly what they intended to say, as their lips are still moving! *grins* ... hope you enjoy the re-runs!

*grrrr* ... I've just realized we're missing two Bosco centered episodes that C4 could have chosen to air this evening if they cared anything for the TW fans... "He Said, She Said" and "Childhood Memories" are both being skipped... that's three already, and we're only three days in...

and a tw marathon is so much fun, hope you enjoy the eps!! also, yes, the editing is annoying, it in fact prompts me to have some bleep-worthy outbursts of my own..

emma - yes i think the mistake doc made with the kid is the major catalyst, but i guess there were subtle signs of his decline in these eps too...

and yeah carlos is a great character, he can be suck a jerk but i think in a way that makes him totally loveable (if that makes sense!!)

alex and ty - dont think they are together in that ep but today's one 'act brave' (i missed the end of today's so cant remember if they get together)? i think when ty gives up his seat for her in the diner, he was being the good, old-fashioned gentleman he is *longing sigh*

also i posted a message on your thread in discuss4 again emma about those missed eps. i wish c4 would just show them - i dont see the point in not showing them AT ALL!

Hey,I saw todays and yesterdays eps...there seemed to be ones missing though.Anyway one was all about Doc and todays about Alex. In both there was no starting line up with the theme song,did they only introduce it this late or was this just some post 9-11 reflection thing?

they were good eps anyway,i got to know more about Doc and Alex,who i didnt know much about really,i started watching season 5 after Doc left and i only saw about half of season 4 which didnt give me much on either....i saw Doc go nuts alright,that was good.

it was nice to have an episode dedicated to alex for a change, considering what happens, and the fact we hardly see her after this. And all the scenes between her and ty in this ep were also really poignant, despite the fact that I remember previously thinking they were never a plausible match. And how lucky can a girl get when she has a man like ty to, ahem, take all her troubles away!!

Favourite moment: Carlos and ty in their new apartment were hilarious. I love the way ty totally plays upto carlos’s suspicions – ‘big ol’ queen!!’ they’re both just so darn cute!!

Not much bosco today - but the ‘harry potter’ lego (have Americans always pronounced that word funny by the way or is it a tw thing?) conversation was funny, and bosco’s line that he gets all his reading done at the cinema!!now why doesnt that surprise me.

hey nutz - glad you're catching the eps now!! also the theme song at the beginning was exactly what you said - a post 9/11 thing - the theme re-appears at some point later in the series.

... yeah, the final scene of today's episode was him holding her in the shower... he's such a sweetie ... and I think they would have made a super couple if both of them weren't so blooming pig headed! I was really upset when they split!

... just a post 9-11 thing... the titles haven't changed since series one, but I can't say I noticed them gone this long last time this season was aired... I may just be imagining that though!

I'm glad you're managing to see some of the older episodes... TW is one of those shows that has very slow charachter development, so it's nice to see where it all started!

... and yet again a major episode dedicated to Alex, and she's a paramedic, not a firefighter... the poor girl... will nobody take her seriously? ... and again, putting herself in a dangerous position to calm a patient! ... I loved all the Ty/Alex Ty/Alex/Carlos moments... they are all super charachters!

actually that's a better way of putting it, his arrogance can be grating for some (my friends think he's such a loser!!), but i think he acts that way because he's vulnerable - and as you said it's great we see that side of him later...

yvonne jung - yeah i forgot she played this part, it was odd seing her in that more self-assured role compared to ditzy lil' levine!! she did a great job!! actually i did love that scene in the mediator's office especially when kim says to jimmy 'stop flirting with my associate'. kim raver is so great at playing (tw) kim's neuroses'!!

minor thing to add - i was reading some posts on another board about this shower scene actually and someone pointed out that apparently you can see him stroking her hip and holding her hand - although we wouldnt know cos c4 saw fit to deprive us of that...it makes me crazy that we miss out on all these little moments in the show - lousy c4!!

LOL! ... you're friends are probably right... he really is a loser, but the great thing about TW is that we've spent years getting to know the charachters, and understand why they are the way they are, and even though Carlos is a loser I know his heart is really in the right place and love him for it! *grins* ... he gets everything wrong, but he is a sweetie!

*grins* ... I think one of TW's greatest assets is the way the charachters interact... Kim and Jimmy are just one example of this... I love thier relationship when it's good or bad!

‘SEX, LIES & VIDEOTAPE’

I remember the first time I saw this ep and my heart was in my mouth during the scene with the psycho knocking the gun out of bosco’s hands and hearing his shouts for faith. And not that im in favour in any way of a bos/faith hook-up but was it just me or did faith spend an unnecessarily long time checking for gunshot wounds under bosco’s bullet-proof vest? All I’ll say is, she seemed to get a good feel…

The addition of the camera crew following doc put a really funny spin on the ep too – and I loved that guy’s comment that he wasn’t afraid of proctor but then scuttles off as soon as she appears!! the end where kim screams at doc was so dramatic and i felt sorry for both of them.

Best moment – carlos dancing half-naked with his bird bopping up and down in the background and walking in on alex and ty. His smirk when he tells ty he was ‘going to ask if this outfit works’ was so cute - such a dork!!

oh, and the part where bosco yells 'who does?' out of the car window when faith tells him people say he's not compassionate!! (and cue a lovely close-up of those pretty blue eyes)
