*grins* ... glad you like the choices! ... I simply loved 'A Call For Help' ... it was so well done, even though some will say it was a slow episode I thought it was great and all of the people in it deserved serious credit for the way it was filmed! ... and the guest star was really good!
... gotta love Judge Halsted... I love that she made Sully smile again... he hasn't smiled for so long!
Yes emma, i loved that boy in those episodes that treach guest starred in. he gave an incredibly mature performance for his age, and his scenes with bosco were also a real treat, i loved the way he gave bosco a run for his money with that attiutde! as for treach, although i was surprised to see him there and they gave him a great storyline on the show, lets face it the boy cant act to save his life, he should stick to rapping....
i didnt really know who ann-margaret was until my mum told me, but yes i liked her role and hope they bring her back maybe as a recurring guest star....
yes, i LOVED 'a call for help' as well. it actually felt like a little bit of fresh air watching that episode. sometimes watching the actors go through the emotional wringer every ep can get a bit draining....and the actor who played tommy shepherd did a fantastic job as well. it was the fact that he played it so 'normal', and yet he'd done something so inhuman and vile that made his performance haunting.
what did you think of gene simmons as a bad guy? i personally felt a little underwhelmed by him, dont know why - maybe cos he overdid the mob boss thing a little. i thought the actor that played shevchenko was much cooler, cant remember his name though.

LOL! ... I didn't even notice that he was in that episode... I was so taken with the kid playing Miguel and his interactions with Bosco that nobody else figured much! *grins*

Oh... me too! ... I really loved her charachter! ... she fitted in to the TW world just great!

You are right! ... in some ways it was a very relaxing episode to watch... it was just the cops doing their work on a lovely autumn day in New York...

I don't think the episode would have worked nearly so well if he hadn't been as good as he was... he was really quite disturbing... I love the way he was trying to play Bos... I also think this was the first episode where Cruz really fitted in as part of the team and I felt like she belonged in the Third Watch...
quote:what did you think of gene simmons as a bad guy? i personally felt a little underwhelmed by him, dont know why - maybe cos he overdid the mob boss thing a little.
I don't think he had the best part in the world to play... he didn't really get enough air time for me to judge the actor or the charachter... definitely didn't make a big impression on me!
quote:i thought the actor that played shevchenko was much cooler, cant remember his name though.
*grins* ... Chevchenko ... he was played by Roy Scheider! ... I love Roy Scheider! *shakes head* ... I have to admit I used to watch SeaQuestDSV when I was a kid! ... He was super as Chevchenko... of course... I think that the whole Chevchenko thing went on far too long!
quote:Oh yes i did get a little fed up with the tatiana storyline, i thought they dragged it out way too much...
It was the first really big storyline that I remember them doing... twas good... but I think they've learnt a lot from it, and all subsequent storylines have been a little shorter and I think better handled!
quote:re roy scheider, i remember watching seaquest dsv, but wasnt a regular viewer so unfortunately dont remember him from that, he was great in tw tho...
Oh my... I think I watched far too much of it! ... he was superb in TW though!

[QUOTE]yes you're right about that, the pacing of series 5 has been much better since those eps.
im having one of those days where i was really suffering from withdrawal too!!
so what do you reckon has been the best series? i love 1 and 2; for me they had the right amount of drama and humour, and all departments - fire, pd and paramdeic were given equal airtime. although ive loved each series for different reasons as tw has produced excellent storylines and great character development in each, i still get more of a buzz out of those first two seasons...

Oooh... that would be a difficult one... ok... I can narrow it down to 1, 2, 4, or 5 ... and I think if I'd seen the entirety of season 3 without C4 skipping episodes I may have had more trouble narrowing it down! *grins*

lol! i think its utterly appalling c4 STILL havent shown the eps they missed from season 3. who knows if they will ever be aired, considering the way channel 4 treat this show....
oh, since i was suffering from severe withdrawal today i was surfing an EXCELLENT tw fansite, and came across someone who posted saying apparently in the pilot ep, they had a scene in which kim and bosco got it on in the back of her bus, but get this, they had faith and bobby waiting patiently outside waiting for them to 'finish', and it suggested this was a regular occurence!!apparently in the end the scene was cut, altho i think it might have been quite funny seeing those two together - although i guess it would have interfered with the whole jim, kim and bobby triangle that they went with....
Any of you ladies know of any REALLY hot pics of Mr Wiles, I've found some but they are a bit fuzzy as taken from episeodes. I need some good ones to have printed on my t shirt. Cheers!
hey cathy. a good site is jasonwiles.net, ive spent many a useless hour trawling through that site!! although i havent checked out their 'gallery' section, im guessing the collection on there should be quite comprehensive. !!
Hi there fellow Bosco fanatics!!! Seen you guys have been busy keeping the thread high on the forum list!
Seen that you've been talking bout fav eps/ guest stars, been racking my brain but no one is shouting out to me (I know horrific!!!) the Fonz was good as was Kate Jackson as his crazy wife, I watched a few reruns of those Charlie's Angels eps on channel 5 and the funny thing is that in those she is the most "rational/sensible/brains behind the plan/got your back" out of the three Angels, so when I saw her playing such a lunatic it was a bit of a surprise.
Anyway to think of some fav eps/ guest stars I thought let me just go to my back catalogue and relive the good memories - oh yeah just remembered my back catalogue is that 20-odd minutes snippet of the JD Hart intro/Monroe getting involved in that car scam. Oh the pain....don't get me wrong, love every TW ep, but that is one episode that does not have much Bosco time , and to make matters worse I realised I that this ep had replaced, wait for it... you will never guess...sods law....can only happen to me...pass me the big stick, yep you've guessed it - the Oliver the Onion episode - one of my all time favs! Anyway I'll just have to get over it
Re: A Call for Help - yeah it was good (for me to call a TW ep 'good' is relatively low as most TW eps are beyond excellent, i.e ratings way off the chart for me), but that ep I was a bit unsure - jury is still out for me. I liked it and agree with most of what was said about the Tommy character/Bosco interaction and integration of Cruz into the team, but there was one angle on that ep that hasn't been mentioned...
The Doc/Bosco confrontations - perhaps it is here that Monroe makes her subconscious choice to 'pick' Doc over Bosco (we analyse these eps very deeply don't we!), this is the ep where she sort of gets formally intoduced to Doc and like Emma mentioned she seems impressed - to the point of a little star-struck? But once she saw Bosco arguing with Doc she should have just thought to herself "if he's not ok with Bosco, then he is not ok with me" - Usually I would disagree with this statement - she has her own mind, let her make her own decisions but a) in her shoes I'd always back Bosco and b) look where her own judgement got her in the end, lets not go back to that disaster equation: Crazy doc = night of passion + theft of a lethal weapon fiasco
Bosco and Kim - I'm really not shocked, she gets all the hotties (v.jealous!) but your right Bosco's Lady - it would have made one tangled storyline too may - also tell your sister that it is a compliment to be one of those American soap writers - Also I'm starting to think her theory on JD Hart being Faith's secret child may not be too far fetched...or maybe I'm getting delusional TW withdrawl symptoms, re-inventing storylines that are not quite there!
cathy - i seem to be getting onto the jason wiles site ok? not sure why it's not working - keep trying anyway!!
and if you do find your way there cathy and f141, id particularly recommend the forum they have there, go to the forum for 'episode discussion'. they have a thread for each ep and a particularly saucy young lady who goes by the name of stinky posts her thoughts on each ep, and let me tell you her obssession is worse than ours - she's great!!!! its a particularly good site if ur suffering withdrawals f141!!
re the doc/bosco confrontation. this is another reason i dont think monroe was ever interested in bosco, and for that matter why her and ty are not right. when she saw doc in that ep, she immediately hit on him, it was plainly obvious she was attracted to him, i never got that with her and bos/ty?
i do agree though that she should have backed bos up when doc was bad-mouthing him. i mean we saw bosco do that for her when that nardo guy was making inappropriate remarks about monroe. he made it clear he wouldnt stand for it - monroe should similarly have made that line clear, but instead she just stroked doc's ego by saying 'i'd love to come see you try and take bosco in a fight' or words to that effect....... mind you seeing bosco in a fight.... his top off.... maybe its raining..... maybe his jeans start sliding off and....oops, im talking out loud agin, i'll stop!!

she was great fi141 - she had me watching with my hands over my face, she was so completely terrifying!! its interesting that her role in tw was such a great departure from the angels, as i never really watched that series. a bit before my time unfortunately!!

my sister would only think i was being sarcastic if i told her it was a compliment fi141, although i have to agree - it does take some stretch of the imagination to come up with the storylines those soaps do!!
so...what other eps/moments does everyone have stored away as favourites?
excellent thread! I thought I was the only one out there to recognise the charms of our Bos. Now, I may be repeating something you all already know but somebody has only just told me so I'll pass it on... Bon Jovi's video for Always has Jason Wiles in a major role and if you fast forward to 3mins 56secs he gets his top off... and he has long hair!!! I didn't believe it was him at first until he walks to camera and it's exactly the same saunter!! I found it on the Bon Jovi website but you have to join to see the whole video. Definitely worth a look! Any news yet on when TW is returning to our screens?
Yes Becca!!!! thanks for reminding me - Was watching MTV with my sister and we were both like 'hey, is that Bosco???' and it sure was. Had to feel sorry for him in the video - gets his trendy loft style/industrial factory style apartment torched by that girl's crazed cheating boyfriend.
Have to say though that video did not really add to the appeal of Bosco for me, also I think I have decided (after sitting on the fence with this one) that I prefer him with his hair shorter - this was one of the many intriguing questions that we have been discussing on this thread, we grapple tough issues here on the Bosco thread .
That long hair look does nothing for me - but I also realise that I'm not a Jason Wiles fan, I'm a Bosco fanatic! I know some may read this thread and think us ladies need some professional help (Bala?) But I would just like to confirm that I am in sound mind and am able to seperate the actor from his character in the show - and I think his character in the show is hot - playing a lovelorn artist-type who gets his place burnt down by a crazy love rival as he does in the Bon Jovi video reduces the appeal by around 76% (I have scientifically worked this out ). Third Watch Bosco on the other hand is just too attractive for words

Sorry - still Bosco/Monroe for me, yeah you are right she was immediately attracted to Doc (big mistake!) but come on - you cannot deny the power of the onion episode She invited Bos to her house on xmas day!!! she helped him with Nardo!!! As I said she obviously has a soft spot for him, I don't know what more to say but they make a good match because they are different personalities but still seem to fit (if that makes any sense!)
And agreed Kate Jackson was good in her role - played that deranged woman very well!
BTW Thanks for the Jason Wiles site tip Bosco's Lady - Cathy not sure whats going wrong for you but it seems to be working for me - did have the black boxes thing, but it just took a little longer to load at first, but picked up quite quicky. There are some fine pictures to adorn your t-shirt! although I'm a bit unsure of the quality of them, look like they are also from television stills.
Also on looking at the site I think I better qualify a few statements I made previously. It gave me a chance to look at Bosco in my 'missing series' number 4 and it made me realise that although I said I like Bosco with his hair shorter it is a little too short in series 4 - but he still looks good!!! Basically I like it shorter but with something to it (where's the ruler...) But hey I'm easy to please: short, shorter or a bit longer than short is fine by me - definately do not like any long shoulder length styles (i.e Bon Jovi video) that he has sported on occasion. Tasty body shots on that site though, long hair or not - see I can look past that
