she aint evil! when her partbers were stealing she wasnt a part of it!you see she does something unprecedented in season 6,she was crying when boscos bro died!and she also kicks major ass!
Anyway hope all you guys have a v.happy new year
At the mo not looking good, my boyfriend and i had a few cross words on friday afternoon and i've not heard from him since. Just hope after 7 years he's not going to end it.... have been feeling pretty rotten
hey cathy, im sorry to hear you're feeling a little blue right now. but dont worry, i think its the pressures of this time of year, it tends to send some men a little loopy. i am SURE he'll come to his senses if he knows what's good for him...
quote:Originally posted by Fi141: basically due to too much festive merriment, joining the gym may be a good idea! Of course if channel 4 decide to show Third Watch reruns I couldn't possibly find the time to fulfil all my TV commitments and the gym (see my little story does have a TW side ) so I have given c4 another good reason to give us TW - they will save me from agreeing to this fitness punishment!!!
fi141 the gym is an evil, primitive form of torture! and the worst part is you pay to be kept in a constant state of pain and sweatiness!! i believe all gyms should be banished along with evil women such as cruz who use beautiful men such as bosco for their own wicked gain!!
quote:tv nutz - re: ignorant friends that need to be brought into the TW fold - all we can do is sigh and educate We can spread the word (definately can't rely on c4 to do this! ) -
i guess im lucky in that i have friends who like tw, altho i doubt their appreciation of the show has reached my dangerously obssessive heights!!whereas the boys in our group tire of our endless discussions of 'that BISTO boy' and his six-pack!!
quote:re: Bos maturing - I agree, but I think that's why he has really grown on me - already confessed that I wasn't totally drawn to him from early seasons but season 5 - he was easily the most attractive, even beating Jimmy! - don't get me wrong I like that 'loose cannon' bad boy side - come on I'm a Jimmy fan, but I think there is only so much of that you can take - which is prob why I also liked Bobby and Ty - they are good, sensible guys!
yeah now come to think of it i only really began to appreciate bosco when i saw how much he cared for his ma. it made me realise underneath all the attitude, he was a sweetheart.... he still does something to me when he gets REALLY angry though. i think its because there's something primal about it, maybe untameable. ya know the more i analyse bosco and the reasons why i like him so much, the more i am convinced i should seek profeesional therapy!!!
Hey Boscos Lady - you are so right bout the gym I really can do without that sort of torture and my bank balance will also be looking a lot more healthier - even if I'm not . I used to go to the gym a couple of years ago when I was at uni, it was part of the student union so the fees were v.cheap - but you get what you pay for and put it this way the physical environment was about as inviting as the gym in Oz (btw does anyone who contributes on this thread watch this?) This was probably not conducive to encouraging attendance.
Ok maybe I'm being way too harsh on Cruz - calling her evil and likening her to a demon (she would fit nicely in Angel- sorry I can't help it!) was not really in the festive spirit. But she is not a likeable character (I'm being nice here). As I've said before she is way too self-serving to the point where it is not only annoying and arrogant but also v.dangerous - and the problem is for an intelligent woman (I'll give her that) she just does not get it -maybe in Season 6 she will finally wake up and try to be a 'better person' but I'll believe it when I see it (hint to c4). But her character is the one everyone (noteable exception: tvnutz) loves to hate - can't see that changing. She may have 'human' moments, she has some morals, a sense of right and wrong (i.e not stealing) but she is still selfish/untrustworthy beyond belief. Honestly I cannot see any redeeming features about Cruz -her negatives totally cancel any positives.
Bosco's Lady: Also agreed on everything said bout Bosco - His attraction is v.complex!! Also I'm liking your little signature quote at the end re: Yokas, Sully, Bosco - Typical Bosco! - but come on Sully, when it comes to competing on things of that 'nature', all bets have to be on 'the hot stuff'
Thank you bosco's lady and Fi141 for your kind words, I havent been on the computer for several days and thought I'd just catch up with the latest 'bos goss' !
I'm afraid it was really my fault that I upset my b/f on friday and he walked out, I was already a bit upset and took it out on him when I shouldnt have. And he'd brought me a bunch of flowers too, I feel so mean Anyhow we are meeting up monday at 2 for a chat, just hope he's not mad at me, will let you know what happens.
Hey cathy, i've got my fingers crossed everything works out for you....
re: going to the gym. the one in my uni is useless too - put it this way, the only way i would be tempted to venture inside is if bosco turned up to workout. i would be there so fast it'd make your head spin!!!in fact, i think mine already is just thinking about it!! although fi141 you mentioned you had your very own personal trainer stalking you - that might be worth looking into, since some of them can be cute! also, i havent seen oz, although i saw it was scheduled early in the morning and thought, 'hey, why didnt they just give tw that spot instead of cutting it to picese during the day'. but is it any good? if it is, i might try and catch it.
re devil-woman cruz: f141, i agreed completely with your assessment of her, it was great (although i feel the likening of her to various creatures of the night have too much truth in them for us to stop - sorry nutz!). she is intelligent, and i can even respect her to a degree, because she did have to work incredibly hard to make it in what is essentially a boys club consisting of white males who couldn't ever understand the place she's come from as a latino woman who grew up in harlem. i guess i can never totally warm to her though because i disagree with her methods. she framed an innocent guy for murder, and made sure her innocent partner would get the blame if he thought about backing out of her plan. then she shot faith, another innocent person, when her plan was being exposed etc... these things to my mind make her loathsome, though maybe not, at some point, beyond redemption....
also, my new sig: im glad you liked it fi! i agonised over which quote to have, there are so many great ones. but felt this quote was most in keeping with the tone of my posts on this thread!! that little exchange btwn them is so funny, it made me laugh too that bosco gave himself so much 'credit' - that really is typical of him though!!
ps i checked out the 'gallery' section on the jason wiles site and was reduced to what i can only describe as a trance-like state!! he's incredibly beautiful isn't he? i loved the one where he's in a plain white shirt looking all innocent, and there's a woman's legs standing over him in black stilleto's. i thought that was exactly the kind of picture bosco would love to have taken of him if he was asked to have pictures taken for a mag...
so since we have talked A LOT about the men , thought we should give the women a little time (disregarding the hook-up discussions we've had!). who is everyone's favourite female character? im going to have to think about mine for a bit....
Hi boscos lady, we met today and we are carrying on for a while but as friends to see how things go! I have to make a supreme effort to change a part of my life, which is actually not as unreasonable as it may sound, and if I can do that then he will be happy as larry. I have also asked him to make a change so its not all one way.
Yay!! that's great that you're both still working on things. relationships are tough but you sound like you both really care about each other which is the most important thing - makes those compromises and sacrifices a lot easier to make.....
quote: fi141 you mentioned you had your very own personal trainer stalking you - that might be worth looking into, since some of them can be cute!
Apparently the trainer guy is quite fit (facially speaking as well as prob being able to push some serious weights! ) Rememeber I already have my spies - my sis, she mentioned he was a bit of head turner - think Lucas/One Tree Hill but with more muscle definition!
I can appreciate that those attributes sound like the makings of a male model. I say sounds coz I'm taking my sister's word for it and sometimes she sees things that are just not there! Although she is not always off the ball - she appreciates Bos! in fact I think while I was still going on about Jimmy my sis was saying how Bos has that 'special something' so I'll give her credit there - but I've overtaken her with the 'Bosco obsession' now!
Anyway back to the personal trainer: He sounds good looking but I think he prob wouldn't be my type - I don't have a preference for blonde boys (remember my feelings on JD Hart )) but don't get me wrong, I can appreciate that a guy can be v.good looking and happen not to have dark hair.
Anyway that trainer only wants me for my body -hey in the platonic sense! wants to get me to a peak of physical fitness! but he also wants be for my money - and I worked out that the monthly fee is pretty much the same as my sky tv fee. I gave myself the convenient ultimatium that my precious £40 can either be spent on the gym or TV - come on there is only one winner! I often ask myself as I'm flicking through the channels how I ever survived with just terrestial tv . Maybe I'll go to the sales and buy myself an exercise bike to put in front of the tv - you get my thinking - two birds/one stone logic.
Also that gallery section on that Jason Wiles site is phenomenal! I know I said I'm totally a Bosco fan - and I am - but there is one pic of him in some other random film he has done (see I'm not a Jason Wiles fan) and he is getting out of bed - that body...(now I bet you he goes to the gym/ why am I fighting this???) and to tell you how good that pic was, Mr Wiles hair is actually shoulder length - and you know I really don't like it like that! He still looks good - but I'd still get him down the barbers - like my man to be looking his best Don't worry I'm being delusional again - if this was even remotely within the realms of my reality my boyfriend might get worried! One of the major stumbling blocks- Bosco is a TV character, see I'm still sane!
quote: i havent seen oz, although i saw it was scheduled early in the morning and thought, 'hey, why didnt they just give tw that spot instead of cutting it to picese during the day'. but is it any good? if it is, i might try and catch it.
Oh yeah sorry forgot to mention this - yeah Oz is great, vital viewing, once you get into the storylines/characters you need to watch it, it has that addictive quality.
One thing I will say though is that it is not for the fainthearted or easily offended. It is definately an aquired taste, the first time I saw it I really didn't want to (it looked a bit nightmarish! - I would have prob changed channels)but my boyfriend liked it so he was watching it and I also became hooked on it- it deals with v.deep issues and some of the characters are seriously vile - Cruz has nothing on them!
I think if your not easily offended and gave it a chance you would get into it - I don't think I'm easily offended when it comes to TV but at a first glance even I was a little put off. But I'll share a little anecdote just to show you how addictive it can be.
I taped all of season 5 that has been showing on c4 during the holiday period - they got it out of the way with double and triple bills - (wish they would at least do that with Third Watch). I caught up with the taped eps during the day and my sister walks in and asks me how I can watch that 'devil show' - I think it's her dramatic way of saying that some of the issues are a little difficult to stomach -I ignored her and carried on watching. Once she actually sat down with me she was totally gripped, kept on pestering me for recaps bout characters - she had briefly seen previous seasons but often changed channels for reasons as already mentioned.
I finally realised the level of her 'Oz obsession' on new years eve when our marathon viewing was interupted by my sister's inconsiderate decision to book a hair appointment in the middle of the afternoon. After dragging herself away (and making me promise not to watch any while she was away) she got to the hairdressers, saw that as per usual her hairdresser had overbooked so they were running really late. My sister askked how long the wait would be - they said around 45 mins (so prob 1hr 30 mins) she ran home (we live bout 5 mins away) sat on the sofa and told me to play the tape of the next episode of Oz - now I was shocked to say the least, can't wait a couple of hours to see the next instalment of Oz - risking a hair appointment - my sister takes her hair v.seriously! It was the power of Oz! She actually took my season 5 tape for her own collection.
I have Third Watch Season 6 episodes 1-10. They are most awesome.I am currently listing on amazon where you can find if you type in third watch on a general search and then onto auctions. Will send recorded delivery for peace of mind. I have 100% feedback. If you cannot find listing please email me at bbeckyb342057103@aol.com The first episode is just excellent, don't wait to go thru the tv guide with a magnifying glass, watch them sooner! ps Bosco rules
re season 6 eps. i think my bank balance will need to recover for a long while after my splurge on xmas pressies and with my mum and my two sisters' birthdays coming up all within the next week!! it looks like my bosco fix will have to be sustained by writing angry letters to c4 and of course by my videos for the moment!!
ok back in time someone asked about our fav female characters. i thought i'd run with that! always liked faith, although after she was shot she got on my nerves. i always thought she and bosco should get together, but apparantly im mad for thinking that! (a litte fling?) monroe is great - i think they should have paired her up with bosco (see im keeping the thread going) . cruz is horrid - cant think of one redeeming thing about her. and she said she never wanted to be with bosco again so she is obviously insane. kim ive always had a bit of a problem with, and she turned down bosco so i think her judgement is impaired. any other views?
Hello happy rainbow! I asked the question about best female and agree that it is faith! the writers really gave her depth, not just playing the mum to her kids at home, and bosco at work but giving her her own issues to deal with such as the abortion and breast cancer and then being paralysed. her vulnerability and strength to make mistakes and still not give in always make her character a joy to watch. i think alex was always a second favourite, although towards the end she (and all fdny) were not given enough screen time. i liked her confidence and devotion to the job - and the way she wound carlos up was always a treat!!
Also I don’t think you’re totally crazy for wanting a faith/bos hook-up, they have been through more than most, but ultimately I see them as having a more brother/sister dynamic. As for kim, well she always came across as a little shallow in regards to men – she not only could have had bos but didn’t pursue it, but bobby as well, who would have done anything for her. and she disregarded these great men for someone as insipid as JIMMY (sorry fi, you’re soft spot for him is well-known, but he really is dull compared to the others )
ps sucha, thank you so much for the offer but i am far too attached to my vids to swap them. maybe you could try downloading those eps from tvtorrents.com?
re oz. thank you fi for your anecdotal means of persuasion - you make a very intriguing case for oz, i know im sold!! i am definitely going to try and catch it. i actually find 'nightmarish' programmes or unsettling issues fascinating when done well. i dont know about you but i find most programmes on tv dripping with sentiment and lacking in real substance. one of the reasons i loved tw in the first place was that it was so fresh and innovative, and oz sounds like it would be right up my street!!
re trainer guy. i am with you about not preferring blond boys, but then again you mention 'muscle definition', and suddenly im not so interested in his follicles! even so, i have to say you're absolutely right not wanting to sacrifice sky for the gym - there really is no competition - the exercise bike is definitely the way to go!!
i also just checked out the photo you mentioned fi, and i sat there with my mouth wide open, barely able to breathe!! that really is some picture, i mean we're talking hyperventialting, hot flushing, maybe in need of resuscitation HOT!! yes, even with the hair, which is not by any means his most attractive look. see if you can check out the one i was talking about, it's in the 'magazine' section; he's a little more demure in that one, but i still think he has a naughty glint in his eyes!!
Hey Happy Rainbow - agreed with (almost) everything you said - Cruz: we don't like her!!! Kim is annoying, when on paper she really should be my fav character
I like Faith - she is really a good character - Thought Alex was good (from what I saw of her)but if I'm not mistaken did she have her main run through season 4? that was the season I missed (don't ask!). At the moment I think Monroe is my fav character - although bit disappointed that the Bosco thing did not take off - they are so right for each other!!
But Faith and Bosco as a romantic couple - No Way! I thought about it for all of 2 seconds and realised that it just would not work - Sorry but I can't even imagine it - its too much of a brother/sister vibe - the writers will ruin it if they change that - shows that Bosco can have a good/caring relationship with a non-related female that is not based on him assessing how quickly he can get in her bed!
But fav female character?? Maybe I'm just saying Monroe coz she is in series 5 and fresh in my mind - there must be others from previous seasons - I'll give it some more thought
Oh yeah - that pic is good - glad you liked it Bosco's Lady! I had all the symptoms that you are describing. Cathy M when you are ready to do your t-shirts I think that one could be a prime contender!
quote: As for kim, well she always came across as a little shallow in regards to men – she not only could have had bos but didn’t pursue it, but bobby as well, who would have done anything for her. and she disregarded these great men for someone as insipid as JIMMY (sorry fi, you’re soft spot for him is well-known, but he really is dull compared to the others [Wink] )
Yeah - I totally agree with Kim and you know what that is exactly what I think about Jimmy - he is beautiful but he is dull - and if I was Kim as much as I think Jimmy is hot I could just not put up with him and his cheating ways - esp when I had some really good alternatives (that's why I find her annoying).
I would have dropped Jimmy in a heartbeat for Bobby (I have emphasised my love for Jimmy but I really did like Bobby - TW is not the same without him) but yeah I know Kim has the history with Jimmy (the marriage/the kid/the fact that is so hot etc etc) but Bobby scores more points for me on every level - what was Kim thinking! However, I do think that Kim made the right decision with Bosco though (I know you may think I'm mad) but that situation with Bos was a bit like two people getting together just for the sake of it, I think thats why she stopped it- the consequences could have been a bit tricky even if it was only a one -off - But with Bobby it would have been different.
