ghost squad seem 2 b doing more harm than good.

I don't know if the director was a different one for yesterday's episode, 6th Dec, but the camera movement was really getting annoying. It was constantly shaking and zooming slightly in and out. I had to keep looking away as I was starting to feel a bit queasy at times. This seems to be happening on quite a few programs lately. I wish they'd stop doing it.

Do you notice the error at the end. After the DCI(?) found the microphone on Amy she put her head in her hands. Then after Amy left the room the DCI started saying 'Oh No' or 'Oh God' or something similar. But when Amy played back the tape later this was on it, even though she'd left the room when it was being said. Oops.

Wasn't Amy doing up her shirt when Marshall was 'Oh God-ing' - meaning that the mic could still pick it up? I'm not sure, but I think she was. Or else the mic is just really powerful! I've taped it, so I could look back and confirm.

I thought last nights was the best of the 4 episodes so far. There was proper interest in what was going on and it ended very chillingly when we (and Amy) found out that Keith did actually kill those girls

It was good to see Pete doing something else other than following Amy, even if it was only paperwork, which lead to him being involved in an innocent mans suicide in prison. Not the best episode for poor Pete, bless him!
No wonder he wanted to get "sh!tfaced"!

Anyway....yeah, good episode. I read in my Christmas TV guide that Adrian Lester (from Hustle) will be in the two-part series finale. I wonder if they leave it open for a new series or just wrap things up? Elaine Cassidy doesn't really strike me as the kind of actress who wants to reprise roles and I'm sure her profile is higher now, espeically after Fingersmith and this.

I agree with whats already been said, last nights ep was brilliant. It constantly kept you guessing right till the very end and I agree about the chilling ending!

Excellent acting throughout once again, a particular stand out scene for me was when Amy was talking/shouting to her boyfriend when he dumped her. I thought Elaine was fantastic then, especially when she said "I love you" In that kind of faltering voice. I just wanted to hug her and say "Don't worry, you#re way too good for him!"

I hope they don't end the series on a cliffhanger because I just can't cope with not knowing these things! I would absolutely love a second series, it will all depend on whether Elaine wanted to do it or not, I think she should, but I am of course biased!

I've just voted for Fingersmith in the Beeb drama awards and voted for Elaine as best actress.

Oh and I watched the next episode last night on E4 and it is also brilliant!! Amy has to investigate a fellow Ghost Squaddie and she's not too pleased about it!

This just keeps getting better and better and I love it's complexity. Love that there are no goodies or baddies here just characters in multiple shades of grey.

I've also noticed that the reviews generally seem to be very good and it always seems to get a pick of the day or something in the papers etc I read. Noticed that Time Out's review for next weeks episode uses words like brilliant and amazing and in my experience they are generally not easily pleased.

They also seem totally enamoured with Elaine and her performance - quite right too she has got to be one our finest already.

Hopefully the production company and C4 are taking note and that there will be the possibility of a second series - PLEASE!!

I've read a few reviews over the past 4 weeks and it's been mixed. The ITV1 teletext reviewers seem to really like it, Weekend magazine loved episode 4 (gave it 4/5) but only gave episodes 1-3 2 or 3 stars, the Daily Mail hated it - so no suprise there then! But I never really take notice of tv reviews, if I want to watch something, I watch it regardless of what they think.

As for Ghost Squad, I think there is room for another series, but it's just all about the production company thinks it's worthwhile and they can get the cast back - espeically Elaine. I really hope she does another series because she's a fantastic actress and this has been such a different part from anything else I've seen her in and she's pulled it off. I don't think she's 'too big' for it yet, but her star is definately on the rise.

As for the BBC Best of 2005 awards: I'll definately be voting for Elaine in the actress category (even though Billie Piper will probably win it, Elaine and Sally Hawkins should come top 5), I have to vote Bleak House for Best drama because it has just been stunning. I thought nothing would beat Fingersmith for drama this year, but BH has.

I really enjoyed Tuesday nights episode - i actually watched it on e4 last week, but have decided that the best thing to do is to watch each episode twice - that way i should pick up on anything i might miss just watching it once!

I thought Elaine was brilliant, especially when she started to realise how twisted and interlinked her life was! That gother really dteremined, and shes fab like that! :-)

Anyway, i have everything crossed that they do another series of this. Eight episodes isnt much, so to do another eight you would think they had enough 'police crime' stories to cover, although they might start getting repetitive?

I am going to vote for her on the bbc poll as well - no surprise there! I really rate her as an actress, and like the fact she likes to vary her roles and tries different challenges.

Ok, I spraffed a wee bit there - trying to distract myself from a nessay I have to do!

Back to this - I re-watched this bit last night and your right. Amy was definately out of the room when Sally started 'Oh God-ing' (you could actually hear the door close as she left) but Sally saying it was still on the tape. Good pick up!

Back to the reviews its been getting, TV Times magazine generally seem to like it too, the only minor gripe they have is about hte camerawork sometimes. But they seem to really rate Elaine too.

last nite's c4 ep: kind of happy end-guy testifys, loose cannon f3 of ghost squad but
don't believe gangsters could get away with kidnapping and killing head of witness protection.

cop killers get hunted down in real world.

but den dnt 4get dat its a telly prog and they hv 2 put drama into it otherwise people might not watch it......i think its an amazing tv show stay up late to watch the next episode on E4, finally the telivision has some decent telivision shows

Okay, was it just me or was last week (Dec 13th) the same episode that was on tonight (Dec 20th) on C4?

The first episode I watched was the one with the girl gang - deadly. The next one was last weeks, by accident. Now I'm totally into it and it's OVER?!?!?

I managed to record tonights on DVD, but I'm so angry that I haven't seen the rest. I know it's early to be expecting a DVD release, but I will be the first to buy it when it comes!!!
Until then, anyone know if it'll be repeated?

I'm fairly sure the episodes were different last night from last week Even though all episodes do seem to contain bent coppers taking drugs and Amy getting half cut at every opportunity. I think that girl needs to go to AA!

There's one more episode of Ghost Squad left - next week at 10pm (it's a double-length episode, so is on until midnight)

I don't believe they are making a new series, because the announcer at the end of last nights episode said something like "and Ghost Squad is back on 4 next week at 10pm for a double length episode as it's the last one." I hope they do another series, but I hear it's bombed in the ratings so I doubt C4 will commission another run

I think ghost Squad is the best drama for a long time and it would be a shame if there wasn't another series as I think its a good concept and different from all of the 'cops hunt down a serial killer' programmes that we have. PLus its nice to see a homegrown drama on channel 4.

Perhaps not enough people know about it or perhaps it is on too late and that is why it hasn't been doing so well.

Please release this brilliant show on DVD!!!

Oh and I haven't missed an episode and they have all been different, Maybe you saw one on E4 first look or something then again the next week?

i can't wait for tuesdays, although I;m sad that its the last in the series and maybe the last ever (*keeps fingers crossed that it isn't*)
