I e-mailed channel 4 asking if there are plans for a second series of the Ghost Squad and if there are plans for the 1st to be released on DVD. they said

Glad to read you enjoyed it. No plans on either count I'm afraid but your interest has been registered.

Kind Regards

Looks like its bad news for us GS squad fans then, I urge everyone who loved the show to e-mail channel 4 and ask about a DVD, perhaps if they get enough interest they will reconsider.

I saw that in the paper! Good for him!! They were talking about him being an unknown and I was like "He isn't unknown"! lol

Maybe if he gets to be a household name they'll repeat The Ghost Squad! lol Well I can hope!

I'm currently re-watching The Ghost Squad (I taped every episode) and you definately get more out of every episode with a second watch.

For me, episode 4 was the best of the series - as it's when Amy starts doubting everything after Robert dumped her in return for Sally Marshall's clearance to Commander and the start of McKay's deceit.

I think it would be a shame if the series wasn't released on DVD at least. Any failure of the show was channel 4s fault, not that of the scriptwriters or the actors. 4 should have promoted it more!

I totally agree with that. Critics loved it, it was constantly pick of the day in magazines and on teletext. Plus one critic singled out Elaine Cassidy's performance as one of the best of the year, alongside the likes of Helen Mirren in Elizabeth.

I am disappointed that Channel 4 didn't promote it more and instead seemed to constantly promote their American imports, they haven't even updated the website past Episode 1, which personally I think is ridiculous.

When C4 didn't continue to update the website, I got quite concerned for their regard of the show - and this was during the run. But I guess that ratings are the ultimate factor in determining whether shows get a second run and Ghost Squad just didn't pull enough people i. It's a shame.

Elaine Cassidy was great. She was in almost every scene, so her performances were great considering the work load she had and how intense that must have been. She's very talented though, so I'm not too surprised!

Me neither, she's been amazing in everything, I've certainly never seen a bad Elaine Cassidy performance.

She was even great in Coldplay's 'The Scienist' video and she was only in it for about 20 seconds! Big Grin

Yeah I know! They couldn't have got a better person!! Big Grin I've read an interview where she talks about when she was asked if she wanted to be in a music video and she had visions of Britney Spears and was thinking "No way!" Then she heard what song it was and agreed instantly!

Channel 4 are repeating The Ghost Squad, starting tomorrow (19th March) at 12:15am (so technically on Tuesday morning!) continuing at the same time on Wednesday night, I'm definitely taping it this time round! I'm not making that mistake again!!

It's a great show, I love it - the kind of thing us Brits don't make enough of.

I'm upset that it isn't coming to DVD...I'd definitely have had it.

I'm going to email channel 4 about it too...hope everyone who loves this series does.

Did I record it wrong or did Channel 4 put Ghost Squad on at a different time last night?! I set the tape for 12:10- 1:15; yet when I've checked it I only have the very last scene and then an hour of some film with LL Cool J?! Do I only have myself to blame or was it a different time (so I can blame Channel 4 instead!)?

Ok ignore my previous message, I have realised the problem and yes I do only have myself to blame! I set it for the right time, forgetting that the clocks went forward and that my VCR is still an hour behind! I'm so annoyed with myself! Unless I blame whoever thought up Daylight Savings Time......

I liked it, a lot. It was real. That bit when she urinated on him turned my stomach though! One question though...where is it set?

No. Unfortunately Channel 4 did axe it but I believe the DVD is coming out later in the year Big Grin

Oh, and if you are in the London area and want to see Ghost Squad star Elaine Cassidy up close and live, she is in 'The Cruible' at the Gielgud theatre until June.

Ok we have onflicting accounts here...is there a DVD coming out or not?

The reply to the email in one of the previous meseges looked like a big no to me.

Persoanlly I think the series should ahve been re-shown after one of the bigger shows on More4 (West Wing and Ghost Squad.../Homer Simpson-style drooling), I think that would have got people interested.

I want a DVD Frown

(best i managed was a bungled recording of the last show)

Disappointing ratings apparently.

I e-mailed channel 4 again (I've been bombarding them actually!) and this time I was told a DVD was planned for later in the year! Smile

And I advise everyone to go and see The Crucible, it is incredible and Elaine is just amazing.
