Gillian Anderson has been great in Bleak House. There is BAFTA talk about already for next year - which is not surprising.

There are so many great performances though, but Denis Lawson, Anna Martin Maxwell (Esther) and Gillian are my favourites. Matthew Kelly was funny in his small scene last week too.

So is she Lady Dedlock then? Had totally missed it ...

Watched House of Mirth - she was fabulous in it.

So....it seems that Esther is Lady Deadlock's daughter, but was raised by her sister.

What could have happened to Jo? I think Mr. Bucket took him.

Only one episode of BH next week, because Friday night is Children in Need night.

In other words, Diana Rigg and Gillian Anderson.

Johnny Vegas spontaneously combusting was a bit of a damp squib - thought from Radio Times article it would be something spectacular. Don;t know why they bothered.

Yeah, it was a bit meak. It's a shame JV's out of the rest of the series - he was a real treat.

Poor Esther though. You just know Woodcourt's going to come back, now that Esther now looks like a spotted dick!

Bleak House is great, I'm really enjoying it. The BBC never fails to impress with their period drama adaptations.
I haven't read the book either so I'm eagerly awaiting the last episode to see how everything is wrapped up, all I hope is that there's a happy ending for Esther and Mr Woodcourt (what a guy) Smile

I like Mr Jarndyce as well - he's a bit old for Esther though. I'd have him!

Last nights episode was amazing. The meeting between Lady Deadlock and Esther was heart-wrenching. Definately the 'scene of the series' so far.

The tension between George and Tulkinghorn is also great. I want George to do in the old man so much, but you just get the feel Tulkinghorn will get away with anything!

Oh, and we had Jarndyce nearly telling Esther how he felt about her. He just couldn't get the words out.

I'm looking forward to tonight!

I'm really enjoying this show too! I've never read the book but I think the half hour format works really well here and its an intriguing story that is brilliantly acted.

Mr J intimidated again by her esteeming him so much!

Couldn't Lady D and Esther pretend to just be friends? They don't look so much alike anyone would guess. Thought my family was weird, sister must have dropped out of sight to raise the child and Lady D not even know?

I think the problem is people would get suspicious as to why they are spending so much time together. That's why they can't see each other anymore. Anyway, I don't think either could hide the emotions that the mother/daughter relationship would give after so long apart.

I suppose - and of course Lady D knows Guppy is on to her anyway. And has even mentioned Esther to her.

Well, the easy money is on George - as he left the gym pretty angry with Tulkinghorn and carrying a gun....but I don't think he did do it. Hortense? Lady Dedlock? We'll have to wait till Thursday to find out.

Well there was all this discussion in the Radio Times. I thought the way he said "You!" it was George (or maybe Hortense).

It seems that Lady Dedlock did it - or is that just something to lead viewers down the wrong path? Anyway, I say a big 'well done' to however did do it!

Line of the series was when Smallweed said to Bucket: "'E don't look well!" when he's looking at Tulkinghorn dead on the floor. That one line was funnier than most of Little Britain!
