Does anyone know anything about the More4 schedule yet? The channel is due to start on October 10th, but is West Wing 6 going to start straight away? I ask because I am still getting through my DVD boxset of season 5, and need to know whether I need to get a move on getting through it before then!
Most people are assuming straight away. I'd be really annoyed if they make us wait. We're already really far behind with The West Wing as it is. But I hope they release their schedule soon.
It will be one of their flagship shows, and you won't be made to wait.
There was a lot of confusion as to whether E4 or More4 would pick up Season 6, as it was originally scheduled for the former channel. With any luck Season 7 will be shown only after a short break at the end of Season 6.
Unfortunately no plans to show Season 5 on C4 at the moment.
************** I did not lie. I wilfully contributed to a campaign of misinformation.
Knowing the way C4 works, they will probably never show season 7, but launch a new broadband only channel in about 18 months that will have season 8 as one of its flagship shows, with a 5 minute infomercial via mobile phones only to let you know what happened in season 7.

Josh: "It was this stupid round robin. They said if the President has a plan to fight inflation, is it fair to keep it a secret. I said of course not..."
Bartlet: "So not only did you invent a secret plan to fight inflation, now you're telling me you don't support it?" __________________________________________________________
Toby: You have to ask yourself - if no-one on the internet wants a piece of it, just how far from the pack have you strayed?

My post was laced (drenched?) with irony. I have no idea if there will be a season 8!
On a lighter note, after I left for work today, the postman delivered my S6 box set. How do I know this, if I had already left for work, I hear you ask. Well that is a story in itself...
Just after arriving at work, I got a call from my 8 year old daughter. She was getting ready for school, and heard a knock on the door. My wife was busy and said it was OK for Lauren to see who it was. So Lauren goes and opens the door, and there is nobody there. She looks down, and sees a parcel. In her own words, she sighed, muttered "oh no" under her breath, and turned to my wife and said:
"Daddys new West Wing has arrived. What are we going to do for the next few days when daddy gets home from work?"
Bless her!

Enjoy yourselves. Its a great series although you get see many members of the cast in a very different light. I suspect series 7 will be the last. Hope I'm wrong but from what I gather viewing figures have declined in the USA. Anyway in a sense it was the only programme which had a constitutional limitation on its length. Is there life after Bartlett?
I hope there's a repeat later in the week, or that the Friday slot is a one off so that they can fit in the double bill and catch up show (not listed in the schedule). But the schedule doesn't say anything. I think More4 are nuts if they've picked Friday night as the regular slot.
I've mentioned on another thread on this forum that I quite like the idea of Friday nights, but then again I rarely go out then anyway. I can understand others not liking it if they go out. This schedule has it down from 9-11pm and then repeated from 2-4am the following day. I'd be surprised if they repeat it again.
What are viewing figures like on a Friday night anyway? I would guess that they are pretty good for the target audience of More4.
^Well E4 used to repeat it late at night, AND in a peak time slot later in the week (plus another late night showing on that day). So, if More4 don't do another repeat, it will just be a loss to those of us who have been watching on E4. So much for their claims of treating it better...
^Series 6 starts on more4 (which launches on Monday) on Friday 14th October, with a double bill starting at 9pm. And there's a documentary/series 5 catchup just before, at 8:30pm. And yes, you can get it on freeview, and all other platforms. Also, no-one is sure whether Channel 4 will continue to show it or not, since more4 is really taking over from E4, not C4. So if you've been watching on C4, you'll either have to find a way to catch up on series 5 and switch to more4, or hope C4 will continue from where they left off.

The double bill is repeated from 7pm on Sunday 16th, but I have no idea what the repeat time for the single episodes will be, as the following Sundays schedule isn't up yet.
The More4+1 channel could be seriously useful if I miss the Friday night but can catch up on the Sunday - 7pm (or 7.10pm) is really early, but 8pm is just about perfect.
There are some great moments. I've seen the whole thing now on DVD...it just isn't up there with previous seasons for me... some of the characters seem to have changed out of all recognition and I'm not entirely comfortable with it, but... it's still the best show on TV in my opinion and there are some really exciting and powerful moments...poor old Leo in The Birnam Wood, for starters...
...it just feels a little sad to know Bartlet is coming to the end of his 2 terms in office and it just wouldn't be the same without him... he was the centre of the show... I'm not sure of the idea of continuing the show with a new president...don't know how anyone else feels about that...I'd almost be happy to see TWW end with season 7, once the new president is sworn in. Tie up the loose ends, show what happens briefly to the characters post The Bartlet Administration and get Josh and Donna to finally get it on!!!
JOSH: I'm thinking of firing you. DONNA: You fired me twice already tonight--I'm impervious.
