The Sopranos is one of the finest shows on tv ever! Its terrible how channel 4 and E4 have treated the show. The time slot always changed and it was shown so late at night. The new advert for season 6 is a joke and no ones laughing. What the hell were they thinking people new to the show wouldnt know what the heck it was about! I just hope they keep the 10 pm time slot and the repeat on sunday its already annoying watching it on tv due to adverts etc. Any way one of my fave characters is Paulie hes always good for a laugh for instance the "Pine Barrens" episode all they had to do was pick up the money...
I hate Anthony Soprano so much now I realise that the makers of the program have been showing us his really dark side through out, bit by bit but now I sick of him. Anti heroe no more just really wicked weak man.......... still keep watching to see how really despicable he will become.
And as for Carmella think of the worst word you can call a woman and she's it!!!................ Leave Him you have blood on your hands and all over that luxurious noveau rich house you love to clean!!!!!!

It is good to see sopranos back have not watched the new season yet, will hope that they will repeat from the begining at some time. Does Tony get his shoes back when we see him fleeing from the police at his house, pure black comedy. Just like on the episode pine barrens Quality entertainment. "Your never going to belive this the guys an interior decorator did you see the state of his place" pure class from Paulie.

Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that, who cares? ...He's a mile away and you've got his shoes.
After the first few episodes I was increasingly hoping Vito would get whacked soon, especially after the oily jerk started harbouring illusions about being the boss. Odd that I'm starting to feel a little sorry for him now. Down to great writing and acting, I guess.
Ok so i have missed about 4 weeks of it now due to my freeview being down, but i got it back last night, can someone fill me in on whats been happening before thursday?

My automatic timer cut off the ending of the episode run on Sunday 14 October, that is the one where Coco made indecent sugguestions to Tony's daughter, and had his jaw smashed by Tony as a consequence. The point at which my episode broke off was as Tony and the meeting broker (Valentino?) had failed to gain entry to Coco's boss's (family?) house to apologise and make peace and were told to beat it. A guy in the upstairs window shouted 'And take that shit with you' (meaning Tony Soprano). Then I got cut off. Can anyone tell me how that episode ended please?

the best tv show EVER!
Thanks for that antonyD. Do you mean to say that 'T' took that insult without retaliation? Did he have any comment for Carmine jnr on the failure of the mission or was he just philosophical about the whole thing i.e. a smashed jaw is worth the odd insult. I thought he would turn around and at least burn the house down. I agree that the quality of this serial is head and shoulders above anything else, and have Series 1 on dvd to cater for withdrawal symptoms in the future. (Had to do the same thing with Series 1 of Twin Peaks). Cheers, elmejor
So Tony is dead, or is he? The blackout at the end makes me think so.
I was hoping for a better last episode though, with both crews taking most of eachother out in a massive gun scene... or something along those lines. I was slightly gutted when they agreed a truce at the sit-down, this meant we wouldnt have the ending I wanted.
I do agree with what people have said about Chase trying to be all 'Arty' for the ending, he could have just gave as a straight forward ending at least. He's basically left the ending wide open to our own interpretation which is good in some ways but leaves me somewhat unforfilled.

sopranos was more than gangster saga so a bloodbath ala godfather/scarface was not on the cards. the ending left me with sense of anxiety that tony must live with.
A suggestion I heard today was that Tony was shot, probably by the shifty character seen in the diner, but it was seen from Tony's perspective, hence the blank screen at the end.
