If I see any wacky tell-tale signs of bad writing - A la Ally MacBeal - I won't be happy! I watched that show for nine years and for what? It just fizzled into storyline absurdity! I won't stand for the J/S saga being discarded I won't! Mad Wink

My christmas was the kind that comedians take the mick out of - it was very flat to say the least but still good will to all men and that..... Smile

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Sorry it wasn't so exciting - here's to a more up beat New Year then!!! Big Grin

Here's, also, to some classic J/D moments - even if only in our dreams!!!

JOSH: I'm thinking of firing you.
DONNA: You fired me twice already tonight--I'm impervious.

Ooh I hope so - I really hope Wells will make all this wait worth it...maybe be a generous a dedicate the second-from-last episode to it and not
Josh: I Love you
Donna: I love you too but we both live to work we would never be happy together
Josh: We could try

The End Mad Mad

Archangel, you really made me laugh with your little "mini adventure" for Josh and Donna. Classic!!! Big Grin Doing it badly would be worse than not doing it at all!!! Mad

Just think of all the criminally abrupt endings of long-running shows:

Millenium - Okay 2 seasons out but still loved it.
Our friends in the north
This Life - don't even get me started
X Files....What kind of an ending was discovering an apocalypse was coming, Scully and Mulder on the run and Doggett and his sidekick (can't remember her name) trying to work out whatever it is they have between them It ended all wrong! Confused

Do you know, I didn't even get to the end of the X files - gave up on it after the movie when it became clear they were never going to finish the story line properly!!!

The second episode of that series was pretty good that had this bermuds triangle type thing and mulder was taken back in time to a 1930's cruise liner...weird but good

Happy new year to everyone. Just back from holiday and waiting for Season 7 to start. Can't wait to see what happens in the new season especially what they are going to write for the death of John Spencer.

I have just finished watching s1,2,3,4,5 and 6 on dvd. I have just witnessed how Josh and Donna relationship changes. I think their relationship is strained in s6, but in s5 there is some serious body language going on.....

Hey, HK! Good to hear from you! I was wondering when you'd finish your marathon viewing!!! How long did it take!?!?! Wink

You know, I have only seen series 5 once - I guess I must go back and watch again - maybe I missed it all - I felt first time round that there were far fewer moments between them - I guess I'll have to check it out!!! Were there any moments in particular that I should look out for? Big Grin

Hi Impervious. Can I just say that it took a lllllllloooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggg time to watch it all. Thanks to that stunt I have a sleeping problem now.... Sorry it was S4, episode 20 "Evidence of things not seen" not S5. Its the one where Toby, CJ and Will go into the press room to see whom can throw a card furthest and there are shots fired at them from outisde of the White House. Josh is in the Roosevelt room interviewing Matthew Perry and Donna rushes to his side to ensure that he is not hurt or upset. There was some serious chemistry going on between them.I was screaming Kiss her!!

Oh yes, I remember now... wasn't that the one where she kept telling him how handsome andpowerful he was, while playing with her hair!?!?

As for your sleeping problem - I'm not surprised. It must me like having jet lag!!!

I've just started watching season 5 again and I am looking forward to a few really good J/D moments, but I am still disappointed that Aaron Sorkin left such a big story line for them to continue at the end of season 4 (ya know, the whole "Are you in love with Josh?" thing) and it was never really referred to again. AARGH!!! Am I the only one who finds this all just so frustrating!?!? Mad

This shouldn't really go in this thread, but did anyone else hear the rumours that Sorkin would be coming back to finish the season?

Hallelujah to that!!! Damn Colin and that damned charming Irish lilt... but gotta love Josh for his jealous comments (Heathcliff on the moors, I'm too sexy for my camera...) Wink

If any of you ever get the chance, check out a little independent film called Fathers and Sons. I watched it recently and it has the most wonderful Brad Whitford performance in it - really moving. God, I love that man!!! Big Grin

ive heard he is going to do a special episode for leo, apparently they have eps up to march in usa with john spencer in.

i agree ive just rewatched season 4, and it really looked like the j/d thing would take off. especially when he was obviously jealous about her relationship with christian slater naval guy. And the eps where he says she will have to sit on his lap in a car, just after he has said how stunning she looks! i really think sorkin was getting ready to do something with them.

Ooh Friday's eppy was a corker...Josh completely losing his rag - Ahh passionate people dontcha just love 'em?!

It's probably the first time I've ever felt really sorry for Toby. Tiny teaser in the J/D sage...I loved how nervous and soft his voice was when Donna dragged him away, would it have been too much to ask if we had one moment of them at the party?! Roll Eyes

Hey, Archangel! Haven't heard from you in a while!!! Which eps are you referring you in your last post? I have the season on DVD so haven't kept up with where you are on TV. Why was Josh losing his rag? Remind me... Confused

Interesting that Sorkin may come back then. He wouldn't have treated J/D so badly - or their fans... I really miss seeing his hand in the show. Frown

I've been a busy bee - writing my book and weathering a rather crap week! The eppy was on Josh's first visit since leaving them for Santos and Toby is on the brink of losing his mind due to grief, anger, frustration, jealousy etc

Men do more grappling than using fisticuffs lately it's very weird but ooh Josh was a firecracker! Wink

More details can be found on the Digital Spy website - it will finish at the end of season 7 - there is also a link on there to a discussion on the live debate for any who are interested.

I have to say that I have mixed feelings on this - I have a feeling that if it had continued for much longer, my love for this show may have weakened with the new administration. I really hope that they finish it strongly - I hope that those Sorkin rumours are right, although someone at NBC (John Wells?)may have to swallow their pride to let him back in.

kinda glad that the 7th series is the last looking forward to the loose ends being tied up, especially the josh and donna thing. just watching season 4 the inauguration part 1. josh being jealous of christian slater v. funny and C.J. showing danny how she would 'have him'-priceless!!

Chadders - I did hear that they now think that Aaron Sorkin was thinking of coming back to write Leo out of the show but that he may be too tied up with the pilot he is doing for a new show. I have posted some articles on the "how do you want it to end" thread which may be of interest. Wink

Archangel - a book!?!? I had no idea. Tell us all about it!!!

Yeah, that scene with Toby and Josh - it's almost a take on the fight between Daniel Cleaver and Mark Darcy in Bridget Jones - that whole "fight like a little boy, not like a man" thing. Wasn't sure, to be honest, but there was a great tension there, too.

As for the Josh/Donna conclusion... I'm putting my faith in Janel and Brad, where it belongs and not in the writers. They have always played them as if they are in love and I hope they will fight to see that justice is done!!! Besides which, Janel has been known to say that she'd always be keen to "get it on" with Brad and I know he's crazy about her, too, so there's still hope!!!
