They must be trying to keep us sweet. They're gonna need to try a lot harder than that, something along the lines of ah, I don't know, Third watch in a primetime slot might do it, I think!!
I agree, putting the tw thread at the top is an empty gesture. Something that would be much more appreciated is if channelf 4 stepped up and brought the sixth season (and even better, any subsequent seasons that may be made). A primetime slot would also be a dream!!
boscos lady, got a reply on "asking c4" thread that there's no news yet re season 6.also,there will deffo be a 7th season in the states as ratings for season 6 there have been good.
lol you're so right!! They definitely anticipated that Channel 4 would fail to notice how good it is. But then again one must consider the extensive research channel 4 say they carried out and found that Third Watch would not be succesful in a primetime slot. Forgive me but sarcasm is what keeps me going right mow when talking of Ch4 and their treatment of Third Watch.
boscos lady, it's just a classy drama(as u,me and loads of others know) that c4 and rte here in ireland don't seem to treat it with the respect it deserves.maybe they should look at the amount of people who've viewed this thread compared to most others on the drama forums.
lara - it made me laugh when i read that c4's 'research' had lead them to conclude that a hard-hitting drama which covers issues such as gang violence, drug-taking, domestic violence, abortion, mutilation and more is suitable for daytime viewing!! can i just take this moment to send my congratulations to the research department - another excellent job done!!
aido1 - it actually surprises me no end how popular the show is on these boards. with the shoddy scheduling c4 subjects it to im amazed tw has so many loyal fans - which is in itself a testament to the quality of the show.
Yes Boscos_lady i think I'll send some hearty congratulations to the Ch4 research department as well. I am sure they are the envy of research departments worldwide.
I am hoping that as half term is coming up they will do what they normally do over the period and show some repeats of classic american drama and comedy. So here's hoping third watch will be on the agenda.
I have another question does anyone now where I can get dvds of past episodes? Ie earlier seasons. I would be grateful for any assistance
Hey emergency!! i hate to break it to ya but a moderator on the discuss4 forum has confirmed channel 4 has no plans to have tw back on our screens at the moment. hopefully they will fit it in at some point this year, but i think it will be a long time coming....
as for dvds, you can get the official series 1 from japan check out cdjapan.co.jp, but beware if you do order them, there is an import charge (the series is split into two sets, and each set costs around £40, although i think they are SO worth it)....as for the rest, unfortunately no more series' have been released, and as far as i can tell, there are no plans to bring them out anytime soon. good luck!
I know how you're feeling winnie4piglet but you just have to be strong! And stay away from the spoilers. god that's tough but this is the first new season i've successfully avoided them!
*sighs wearily* if you read it more carefully nutz, i did post info about channel 4's response to enquiries about season 6 too (although it's not much i grant you), it's the most direct response channel 4 have given us as yet and since people have been pining for any morsel of hope, i thought it would cheer people up to know there has been (some) progress....
I am a newbie in this forum and i only just found out there is a forum for TW. I have been a fiathful viewer since it first aired on Sky One. The rough treatment it has recieved has been so undeserved as it has quality acting in each and every episode. I think it beats that of ER and other US dramas. I hope C4 come to thier senses and decide to screen the new series.

looking to trade season 5 of third watch for season 2 or 3imnowizard@hotmail.com Have also eps 1-13 of season 6. Dont mind either avi files or mpegs... Can anyone help me?
Yes Third Watch was first shown as a prime time 9pm drama on Sky One about 5 years ago. Then was dropped by the channel. The next time i saw a series was when C4 decided to start showing it during the twilight hours.........

yes - redslady is right - skyone first showed TW - thats when i started watching it. They had season 1, and i think season 2 as well. Then it began its almost mystical journey around the channels and timeslots!
Yeah i always have to keep a tv guide handy cos all the times can change.......I can remember it being on at 9pm,2.30am,10.30am, and 3.30am also. It has always been like a merry go round. If the channels had given it a regular slot i think many more people would have tuned in!
