Thoughts on "Two For The Road"
First off - I hate RTE 2 and the World Cup for making me wait until 11pm to see this episode. I really do.
Ana-Lucia - Guys, I think Michelle Rodrriguez can act because she was pretty amazing in this hour and Ana certainly had her moments. Her second flashback was much better, the cameos were interesting and on the island she made a breakthrough as a person. Only to be killed by Michael. I kind of hate him now.
Libby - If she was looking for a way to not explain to Hurley where they really knew each other from then being shot by Michael seconds after Ana was that way. I will miss the both of them, namly because I liked Ana and Libby was still underdeveloped as a character.
Michael - Why go all gun happy, pal? Has Michael been "turned" by The Others? Was he forced to do it for Walt's sake? Either way, like Sloane on Alias, he has managed to make himself look bad in my eyes.
Henry - This guy is one clever cookie, he really is. He knows how to play Locke and Locke is letting him. His conversation with Ana was brilliant? Did Goodwin really want to "turn" her? Do The Others recruit people aside from the children they steal? He escaped now thanks to Michael I assume.
Jack/Locke - These two are actually communicating but still disagree on matters. Jack seems to be itching for an excuse to take on The others like Locke is spoiling for a reason to be "special". More conflict I bet.
Kate - I'm liking her a little more but she was pretty unneeded here. It's not like her feminine wiles managed to distract ...
Sawyer - He slept with Ana-Lucia in a scene and reaction eerily reminiscent of Buffy/Spike. Guy should've really handed the guns over without being smart for once.
Hurley/Sayid - Like their conversation, pretty swwet and the Shannon mention was ironic. Boy do I feel bad for Hurley when he finds out what happened to Libby.
Charlie/Rose/Bernard/Claire/Eko/Sun - None of them featured.
Christian - More irritating TV doctor is back. A lot of what he said to Ana was similar to what he said to sawyer in "Outlaws". Glad Ana decided to make amends with her mom rather than wallow in self pity like Christian.
Woman - Is that Claire's mother, are we supposed to believed that Jack and Claire could be half brother and sister? I wouldn't object but I doubt Claire is the only blonde Australian girl around, though for this show it would be fitting.
Big question - was MR fired or were the producers telling the truth when they claimed she only had a year long contract. If Libby hadn't been killed only seconds after Ana-Lucia, i'd lean toward the latter but i'm convinced it's the former.
The acting on this episode was powerful, worthy of HBO. Easily a 10/10. I'm gonna miss Ana-Lucia and Libby.
