Best television show ever! Lost and Desperate Housewives aren't a patch on this. trust me this season will blow you to pieces, Alan Ball and company are really delivering the goods.

Can some one please tell me definitively, when and at what time is SIX FEEET UNDER scheduled to run on E4. Is it next week?
Those links previous don't show 6 Feet Under timmings anywhere!
Isn't it great to have an intelligent, funny and emtionally engaging series back on our tv screen once agin...
I might now pay my tv license!

I am posting this as some people (like I was) may still be confused as the link posted above about SFU starting on Tues 16th Aug takes you to a page where in the 10pm slot it says TBA. I just checked on Radio Times site and they have it as definitely SFU - E4 10pm Tues August 16th. I don't actually watch E4 an awful lot so haven't seen any ads for it myself but I haven't seen any on C4 either (guess they may not be showing them as its only on E4). I think it's appauling that they have hardly advertised the new season (finding out anything on the website is impossible too) and they are only showing it on E4 - it doesn't pose any problems for me as I have always had E4 but that isn't the point. This is a VERY popular series (the best ever on TV as far as I, and a lot of other people are concerned) and they aren't even showing the final season on C4! Disgrace - although now I know for definite that I can get my fix a week tomorrow - I truly am very excited!!!

Alison Graham says in her Radio Times column that the fifth season of Six Feet Under will never be shown on Channel 4 (although she seems unaware that it is the final season). This is disheartening as just a few days ago Channel 4 were saying that they "currently have no plans" to show it on the main channel.
This made it sound like there was a possibilty that they may show it in the future. It's a very vague phrase which doesn't mean much at all. I just want to know - have Channel 4 completely ruled out letting people who don't have digital see the final season of Six Feet Under?

I seriously hope that's not true or else Ch4 are really depriving viewers of top notch television.

But why are C4 showing repeats of earlier series and not the new series.
If 6FU was not popular why show repeats?
I wish they would just change their mind and show the new series and stop screwing over the people that have been their viewers for years.

Exactly because what i've heard, Season 5 is not something you'd want to miss at all.

I posted the other day but it wouldn't take it - said I had triggered their "flood alert" - scary moment. I had said (whispers) C4 has gone crap and bring back m i c h a e l g r a d e ... not sure what kind of flood that is ... Anyhow, I have cracked and subscribed to get E4 BUT can't have it until next Thursday so I hope ep 1 will be repeated. Else I will rely on you for total blow-by-blow account. Did you get that email about shipping on SFU merchandise only being $1? I guess that was domestic, I do want one of those flower pot mugs though. Mind you, even for $1 I'd be pushed ... luckily paying for sub is in the future !

Didn't get the email soosy, ave to chewck my emails as I type. I will definitely provide you with a glowing review for episode 1 "A Coat Of White Primer". SFU is repeated Sundays at 10pm, so there's a second chance to see every ep if you've missed it on Tuesdays. You're right about Ch4, how dare they mistreat a show of such brilliance.

I can just about understand Channel 4 no longer bothering with the terrestrial rights for Nip/Tuck as it is originally shown on Sky One. But since SFU is shown on E4 couldn't they also get the terrestrial rights for a pittance as part of a package?
By not showing the final season on terrestrial, Channel 4 is saying to viewers "we don't care how good a show is - if it gets low ratings we won't let you see it unless you have digital". This is just petty and arrogant.
Are Channel 4 aware that this is the FINAL season? They would only have to shell out for 12 or 13 episodes. Is it really worth the loss of respect and aggravation that not showing this on terrestrial will cause?

Agreed and Season 5 is better (critically) than Lost and Desperate Housewives combined. Channel 4 are being idiots on canning this show.

SPOILERS, SPOILERS, SPOILERS, SPOILERS!!!!!Seeing as this show doesn't have a forum of it's own (probably not a bad thing given how the Lost and Desperate Housewives are), I have decided every week to put an episode warning, so without further ado .... Episode 5x01 "A Coat Of White Primer" (E4 tonight/Ch4 spoiler) Ruth dreads George's return from the hospital in light of his recent diagnosis; Nate and Brenda prep for a big day, but an emergency makes them reconsider; David and Keith bring up alternative parenting options for discussion; Rico navigates new waters via internet dating; and Claire enjoys domestic bliss, but crosses a line with her camera, inciting an attack from Ruth. Tonight 10pm on E4.

I am a big fan of the show, tonights episode was a cracker, esp Brendas line to nate about her dead baby leaking out of her on her wedding day, I am so looking forward to the next episode, and I love the fact that Keith and David are still just Keith and David, they are such great actors that I always feel the love when they do a scene together, and Claire and Billy, so wrong, she needs to escape before the tattooist calls round,

First of before I di praising of any kind did anyone notice a few scenes in the first half of the episode felt a little snipped/cut? Thanks E4, you're such jerks. Now onto the praising with my ... Thoughts on "A Coat Of White Primer" Nate/Brenda - Did anyone really think the day these two would get married everything would be fine? I didn't and I was proved right with Brenda's miscarriage, Nate's insensitive attitude and Lisa's pithy smackdown or as twop dubbed it Bridezilla vs Not A Mom. Clever way of addind in Nate and Lisa's 2002 wedding and a flashback to Ruth and George's as well. Ruth/George - George has gone snap, crackle and pop in a series of great flashback (they're always shot so realistically on this show). I felt for ppoor Ruth but she had no right to take it out on Claire though. And as for Maggie, she plays a huge role this season, that's all i'm gonna say on the matter. Claire/Billy - An intriguing coupling but I can't help but think there's inevitable danger here despite the domstic bliss with the two of them. In every odd season, Billy does something crazy, it's an odd. Watch your back Claire. David/Keith - Most people may groan at this parenting story line but anything that strenghtend these two as a couple is always good IMO. Here's hoping they are doing it for the right reasons though. Federico/Vanessa - I loved Rico's little internet dating subplot, it was lighthearted compared to some of the seriousness in this episode but new regular Justina Machado (Vanessa) better be given more to do. Another typically brilliant premiere from this excellent show, 9/10 More expanded thoughts and some comments in my review on .... http://www.tv.com/a-coat-of-white-primer/episode/418721...d=23658&flag=&order=
