Hi folks I'm currently doing ND Moving Images at college and my current module is producing a single camera drama. I have a few ideas in mind but i'd like some feedback and maybe some ideas on this idea. I'd be grateful for any comments you have Thanks
IDEA…. “Needs a title”
The film is about a boy. A boy that everyday follows the same routine, day in day out. At School/College he does not talk much, hasn’t made friends. He sits alone in the canteen and usually chooses to work and sit alone in class. In the canteen he wonders and thinks about ideas and stories. His best friend is his imagination. He plays out stories in his head. He also thinks about what is happening in other people’s minds. When people are talking to each other, are they actually talking about what they’re thinking? Are two best friends really best friends or is it all a lie? Is the coolest person in the school actually all that he makes out to be, or does he go home and still suck on a bottle? After years of the same routine he questions his own life, why is he the same person that never gets noticed? Is he all but a name on the register? He finally starts to talk out loud instead of talking within his head, and begins to get noticed. He even makes his first friend. In the end he decides to write down his stories in a scrap book, and even begins to write a story. The story is the actual film.
The moral of the story is that all people aren’t what they seem on the outside, but on the inside is the true person and if all people expressed their true selves, the world would seem a happier place to live in. Another moral is that everyday, without noticing we follow the same routine and go round in one big cycle. Life itself is one big cycle. The film mirrors this by acting out the story he writes which always ends in him telling the story.
One of my main ideas for this film is that the central character (the boy) doesn't actually talk until near the end of the film, maybe even the end. was thinking of him being the narrator, so the viewer hears what he s thinking. Like I said, feedback and ideas would be fantastic
