I read in the latest magazine that theres going to be a few episodes where Sydney isn't in so there hoping to get Irina to fill this gap. It seems like it will be a continuous series. I also read an article saying that Syd obviously won't be fighting as much but it does say that if danger comes to her she will fight it off. Sounds quite cool.

Apparantly it is all but confirmed that Vaughan will be killed of in the season premiere or soon after it.

the 5th month break wont be that bad, jg will have to stop working before the baby is born and then take time off, i guess they will just have two cliff hangers that season.
and its only in the states they have 22 episode runs, in GB shows they do 6 then have to take a year off! (can anyone explain why our shows are so short? its the reason i never bother watching them, no time for real character development or story arcs)

In the season premiere episode, after learning that the man she has known as Michael Vaughn is under investigation and suspected of being a double agent, Sydney begins to question whether their business and personal relationship over the years had all been a lie. When she discovers that she's pregnant with Vaughn's baby, she becomes determined to uncover the truth about him. Meanwhile, because of Jack's past betrayal by Irina, he begins to worry that his daughter may suffer the same fate that he did.

This season, new agents will be introduced and a nefarious organization will come to light in Sydney's life as she fights to protect her unborn child -- all the while traveling incognito, outsmarting the bad guys and keeping the world safe.

Don't breathe a word of this. Because nobody's supposed to know. But Michael Vartan fans might want to make sure they tune into the season premiere of ''Alias.'' Because according to our on-set spies, it will be the final farewell appearance of agent Michael Vaughn.

''If you want to see Michael, you shouldn't miss the first show,'' said our spy.

According to the super-secret script, Vartan's character is killed off in dramatic fashion in the season premiere – and conspiracy theorists are suggesting it's because Vartan and leading lady Jennifer Garner have been at odds since she dumped him for Ben Affleck!

But at least Vartan gets to go out with a bang.

''In the show, Michael is investigating some case and is set up,'' said our spy. ''He gets shot numerous times but does not die on the scene. He makes it to the hospital where he eventually dies.''

Vartan's onscreen paramour, Sydney Bristow, aka Garner, is with him when he flat-lines and has to identify his body. As promised, the writers work Garner's real-life pregnancy into the plot of the show, leaving Bristow pregnant with Vaughn's child. For the rest of the season she is on a mission to find out who killed her baby's father.

In real life, of course, Garner is due to give birth to Ben's baby in the fall and for the better part of a year there have been rumors of trouble on the ''Alias'' set. Garner dated Vartan before she hooked up with her hub. In fact, she dumped Vartan for Affleck.

Reportedly this has led to hard feelings between the co-stars. But our spies say Vartan is ''over it.''

''He wishes them nothing but the best.''

A rep for ABC has declined to discuss the upcoming season's plot developments. So, as always, do stay tuned

Well the first post was just from the ABC website and isn't anything we don't already know. As for *Vaughn* leaving, theres been so many different versions of this story. I don't believe for an instant that Vartan would leave because Of Jennifer Garner. They've been doing fine for long enough and from what I've heard it was a happy break up. I don't really think that this character will be killed off. They're far too important and I've seen interviews of *Vartan* talking about what he would like to see happen for his character in season 5. Finally, I think we all know that being shot isn't enough to keep anyone dead in Alias! You can never judge what happens in a series by one episode. Take for example, Nadia being shot in 'Echoes'. If someone just got hold of the script for that episode, then people could have been going on about how Nadia can't leave! Let's just wait and see what happens. Being shot might just be a way to stop Vaughn being investigated by the CIA for being a double agent, we just don't know! Remember this, whatever you think you know about Vaughn, you really don't know anymore!

Alias lost out again at the emmy's! Apalling! Jennifer looked fabulous though and Abrams other creation, Lost, won best drama so it's not all bad! Season 5 starts next wednesday in the US, I may download it so I don't have to wait too long...

But it turns out that it won't be the last time we will see the original character as they will return and a flop will occur."

this is starting to bug me now

There's a new trailer for season 5 on the abc website. Just click the videos tab and then click on Alias. Not much new stuff but it's still cool. Also alias-media has new promotional pictures of the new cast members.

This may be irrevelant but "stuck in the dark ages" RTE 2 in Ireland are airing the third season Fridays at 1:25am, starting this week. Yeah they love the show so much! Alternatively Bravo are currently repeating it Saturdays at 6pm and 7pm and Sundays at 6pm.

this is starting to bug me now

turns out it is not about vaughan,it was Walt on Lost. A casting call was put out to replace him,but then they decided not to replace him and Malcolm David Kelley will be staying with the cast of Lost. I presume it has something to do with him hitting puberty...but im sure they can work around that.

am I going to be the only one downloading Alias again this year?

ummm,probably lol my download rates have been terrible so far,Thursday nights have everybody hates chris,smallville,alias,without a trace,everwood. Ill get chris because its only half an hour long,ill get everwood because it will be a year or more before it comes on tv,whereas smallville should be here in January,alias probably in march. i might get without a trace to see how the cliffhanger plays out.

Well I havn't seen the episode of the new season yet but I wanted to see if the rumours were true or not.
