TERRIFIED Amy Barnes flees for her life from thug lover Ste Hay as his reign of terror escalates.
Even the news she is pregnant with his baby does not stop the nutter battering the pretty schoolgirl.
Ste – played by Kieron Richardson, 22 – loses the plot later this month in some of Hollyoaks’ most violent scenes yet.
The poor girl is left cowering in the corner of their dirty flat as Ste lands blow after blow. He flips after Amy (Ashley Slanina-Davies, 18) accidentally lands him in trouble.
The lad, who has been working as a debt collector with Justin Burton, steals a karaoke machine he picked up on his rounds.
Amy is thrilled and mentions it to Justin (Chris Fountain, 20) when they meet in the village.
But when Justin reads Ste the riot act he takes it out on his girlfriend, who has become a battered wife over recent weeks.
A show insider said: “It’s the final straw. Amy knows she now has to protect her unborn baby as well as herself.
“So she does a runner and the McQueens find her in the village and take her to their house. They are stunned to learn she has been the victim of domestic abuse for months.
“They convince her to tell her dad Mike and she finally comes clean.”
Naturally, Mike is devastated his daughter has faced such abuse and storms around to the flat to confront Ste.
They have a face-off and Ste baits Mike, who then lashes out.
This time Ste has met his match and he ends up as the one getting a right pasting.
Our source added: “Mike makes it perfectly clear that he will kill Ste if he ever touches his daughter again.”
