Oh my god! Her best friends lost her child and she's feeling sorry for herself! How selfish can you be. I'm glad Mandy stook up to her. Grr she really annoyed me!

Yes Mandy has been through a lot, and she's in pain. But life doesn't stop for everyone else, theire pain and emotions don't become non-existent because their friend is hurting. I'm not syaing Becca is completely right, but she's going through something, yes it is self-inflicted really, but that doesn't change the fact that at the minute she's an emotional wreck.

On top of that he friend expects her to just stop loving the guy she loves. Let's remember even Mandy sees that Becca loves Justin (which does say something about last weeks 'i thought i loved him comment' probably being about Jake). Becca is entitled to be emotional too.

I wouldn't say Becca was ENTITLED to be emotional, it's just the way she is. She has admitted before that she's weak (to her sister). Weakness got her into her present predicament and it's what's keeping there too. Mandy just got sick of seeing Becca wallowing in self pity due to a situation of her own making. The fact that she's ruined Nancy's, Jake's and probably Justin's lives is totally lost on her. The last straw for Mandy was when Becca blamed the baby for complicating things. In Mandy's eyes Becca has been blessed with a gift that was so cruelly taken away from her and all she can do is blame it. I know Becca won't commit suicide but to even contemplate it when she has a life inside her is extremely selfish.

I didn't say Becca was in the right in this situation, only that she's entitled to feel how she does. Everyone is entitled to their emotions because emotions are not something we can control.

As for sympathising with her, i do feel sorry for her yes. I also feel sorry for Jake, i realise he has been hurt a hell of a lot. But that doesn't mean i condone his actions in the past couple of weeks.

Everyone is entitled to be emotional, because emotions are something beyond our control. I also said that i wasn't saying Becca was in the right during the conversation with Mandy. All i was saying is that we cannot expect the lives and feelings of other people to just stop because we're going through something. Because other people are going through their own things. And like i said, yes, Becca's is self-inflicted but it doesn't change the fact that right now is a really hard time for her and she's entitled to be in pain.

I disagree, Mandy isn't feeling self-pity she's still grieving. Those are her emotions to which she is equally entitled as Becca is.

More people can understand Mandy's because of what she has been through, and that's totally fair because he death of a baby is a horrible thing and it isn't easy to get over and it certainly doesn't happen in a few weeks.

The situations are entirely different but they're both equally entitled to the emotions they feel and showing them.

Grief... Self Pity. Same difference. Both of them are down. It just strikes me as poor writing when one character tells another character how to behave... but doesn't take their own advice.

It's so much like real life.

Grief and self-pity are two entirely different things. Grief is pretty much all consuming and it's something that you can't just wake up and say one morning 'all done, i'm okay now'. Grief can last weeks, month, years, a lifetime. There is no time limit to grief and nobody should expect there to be.

Mandy, for that scene, did a pretty good job casting aside her grief and kicking her mates ass though. Wouldn't you say?

You don't think any of what she said came from the grief she was feeling? Considering the context of that coversation when Mandy went off on one i think you should have paid a little bit more attention.

Oh at the end, mention of the baby, yeah sure. But not before that. She was completely hard for that whole sequence, straight from the off. Quite random considering how she has been with everyone else.

She got harsh after seeing Justin at the door. Because i think it was around then that she started to admit to herself that things were not completely over and she was starting to see how becca felt. Because although Becca was harsh at first she couldn't keep it up, she softened. And i think that got to Mandy.

starting an affair with a schoolboy and coping with the loss of your only child are two completely different things. mandys grief is understandable especially since tony suggested having another baby

Go Mandy. I can't believe Becca would say that about the baby in front of Mandy.

Becca needs a good kick up the backside, as what right has she got to ask for sympathy as she is in a situation of her own making period. Mandy isn't, it wasn't so long ago that she had everything to enjoy in life, yet she didn't have a choice when Grace died.

And if you want to criticise Jake for getting a bit rough with Becca, then you should also criticise Becca for hitting Nancy so hard she sent her sister flying. That was equally uncalled for Jo.
You cannot dare criticise one person for their actions after finding out they had been lied to for months, yet not criticise another for getting violent towards their own sibling as if anything Becca was as violent as Jake when she was fighting with Nancy.

I never said that Becca was an innocent in this and i never said she was right for hitting Nancy. She wasn't. But there's a big difference between slapping someone once when you're in a state, and beating the crap out of them. Neither can be condoned though and i ahve never said otherwise.
