Ihave been looking at the front page for this site and doesn't it strike anyone else suspicious that both Dr Vole and that Mustrad geezer look like the exact same person. The smile is absolutely identical.

I know what you mean - even I'M having doubts about my identity. Vole or monkey? Or condiment? I just don't know any more.

I shouldn't complain about the publicity. But people must get bored of seeing my ugly mug every day. I'm sure my wife does.

Once was the time that there'd be a new caption competition there instead of some big-eared chancer on his wedding day. So, with that in mind, all captions commenting on my picture are gratefully received. Be as cruel as you like. The best entries get points on DrVole's Comedy Staircase.

As for the new caption comp (for points on the 'Comedy Staircase'), how about:

Due to a problem with the comedy staircase uploading process, only one caption has been received so far. But we're back up and running, so keep those entries coming!

Well this really will be like the old days if there's only one entry...

I'm all for getting our own little comps and writing exercises going here on the Forum... It would possibly get people interested in looking at it again and frantically posting, if it grabbed them enough... We definitely need something - it's a real shame to see it dying off...

C'est moi - Monsieur Vole. Trying to start a forum caption comp using my picture on the front page as the inspiration. But there's not much to go on, eh? Here's my entry:

DrVole was considering taking his eyebrows to the vets.

Doctor Vole's head transplant operation was only a partial success.

I'll have a double dip in the new caption comp with this one:

"Attempting to come up with a clever costume for the fancy dress party, the good doctor had made a cox of himself..."

(As in rowing cox, with the little megaphone)...

Dr Vole prepared himself for this year's Police Academy convention... "MAHONEY!!!"

After his first successful month on the users blogs 4Laughs execs realised that Dr Vole wasn't in fact still smiling... but rigor mortis had set in.

The Caption Comp has died... it never really worked properly and a few months ago it died...

Sorry, we've tried to get it fixed, but I'm afraid it can't... soz.

Tis a shame, it was a really enjoyable little time-filler...

BUT... This little comp we've been running here has definitely been a great substitute, to get things cooking again, even in a small way...

I know on some Forums there is the ability to post pictures within the body of the message - now if someone could look into that being made possible here, we could really be onto a winner... I think the Forum would definitely be a more natural place to run a Caption Comp and submit entries anyway, and certainly far easier...

Here's hoping...
