As most people are probably aware from previous threads, we have received news of the tragic death of outstanding 4Laughs user, Yielding.

Unfortunately, some of the first posts telling the sad news, were removed by our moderators. Understandably this is policy for the moderators who could not be sure that it was a genuine announcement, and were very concerned about causing distress. It's not possible to restore deleted threads, so if you would like to leave a message of tribute to Yielding, please put it here.

Groovy music, odd and cool animations, humour with a twist...the depth and breadth of talent can be seen in all of his contributions. A high yield in deed.

I posted in the original (insensitively deleted) thread.

Scott was an inspirationand a true gent. In my infrequent emails with him he was always helpful and always with a smile on his face you felt.

He will be missed but never forgotten.

A true star. So sad to hear of his loss to family and friends but was so glad to learn that his last days were filled with well-deserved happiness.

So talented, so young, so close to a dream.

RIP Scott. I'm sure we'll all take a part of your influence with us on our own seperate journeys.

From his first post on these boards it was clear that Scott was destined to break through and make a living as a writer.

He assisted not only myself and the JunkMales but many others in our creative efforts and was always on hand with friendly advice for all.

Scott provided some images for the sketch that Frank, Dan, Jack and I filmed this last Saturday. I think it's fitting therefore that we dedicate it to him.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

I was describing the Death Star Support sketch to a friend this afternoon (doing my best Zeal impression) and he was laughing his head off at it, without even seeing the sketch... what better way to be remembered.

Rock on Scott, wherever you may be!

MC

I agree with everything above, really really helpful, great talent, really nice guy and also he was a great performer.. his voice overs were as much a part of the pieces he made as the writing and the animation. He had a rare and truly idiosyncratic talent which will be sorely missed.
A lot less to smile about in the world today.

Yeilding truely symbolised what this site is about and what it is possible to achieve. He had genuine talent and, more than that, he came across as a great bloke, always on hand with brilliant advice, tips and news on oppertunities he thought would benifit everyone. His animations were always top notch and inspired me to take my first steps into that genre. His comedy and legend will live on with us and countless others who have loved his work on this site and beyond. Yeilding you will always be the 4Laughs King of Comedy.

The man was living definition of the term multi-talented.

A truly sad loss, not just to those who knew him in person, but also to the many on here who knew him through his work.

I never knew the man personally, but i feel genuine sadness at such a tragic loss talent and of life.

I sincerely hope that his friends, family and collaboraters find some solace in his passing.

Perhaps the comedy ladder should be frozen in honour of the man, gone but always remembered here as our number one.

Such sad news, he was an inspiration to me, and from what I read of him an incredibly kind, considerate and helpful guy. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends.

Hey dude

I'm relatively new round these parts but for what it's worth, I thought your stuff was really fresh and exciting - hey maybe you were taken before your time because there's a serious lack of funnymen on the 'other side'. Anyway, wherever you're reading this from, just wanted to say you'll be missed - and keep 'em laughing mate.

I haven't been on the site for a long while, and just decided to look at the blog to find this news.

At first I thought it was some sort of joke, with it being 4laughs and all, but now I’m doubting it.

This is terrible news and he will be missed I’m sure, he had a great attitude and was really helpful to others, and the comedy he produced was brilliant.

Can I just ask, if anyone knows, how did it happen? Is this actually true, I don’t know with not knowing the back-story and everything. Sorry if I seem insensitive.

...Along with everyone else, I'd like to offer my deepest sympathies to his family and friends...

I was not fortunate enough to know him well as some 4Laughs users did, but on the few occasions I did speak to him, I found him to be an extremely friendly and truly inspiring person, who was always more than generous with his time and knowledge... He was pivotal in helping me begin my own animation work and for that I will always be grateful...

It is absolutely heart-breaking that this has happened just as things were beginning to go so right for him... His remarkable gifts would have almost certainly blossomed into something very special...

It really was an honour to be one of the first to enjoy his material as he began posting it way back at the start of the main site... From that first Guantanomo Bay script and onwards through to the later Star Wars videos, it just kept getting better and better... And we all said even then "He's got it"... This was someone who wasn't just competent at what they did, or even merely above average, he was exceptional and truly GREAT...

An irreplaceable talent, he was universally respected and highly thought of wherever he went, and will be greatly missed...

To his family and friends my deepest sympathy.

yielding was one of the first to read my first post in the test bed and from then on I always read, watched and listened to what he posted himself. I'm writing this with sadness in my heart but a smile on my face as I remember "STAR TWOC".

Your 4laughs friends will never forget your inspired humour and wit.

A note to the 4laughs team. What about a competition once a year in memory of this great man "THE YIELDING PRIZE"

I exchanged a few emails with Yielding a little while ago but, like many, I wish I'd got to know him better. His talent, creative drive and the work he put on this site and others is inspirational.

His passing is a loss to us all.

Jax

Writing comedy is like taking a dump.

Don't force it or you might end up with something that isn't very funny at all...

I echo everbody's sentiments... a multi-talented guy... liked and respected by all... but human and fragile, like the rest of us...

My respects and condolences to his family and friends, especially Terry and anyone grieving for Yelly...

Frankie

Yelly surely lives on somewhere!

I have only recently heard the tragic news of Yieldings passing. My thoughts go to his family at this difficult time. I didnt have many dealings with him on a personal level but I could tell from his material that he was an extremely talented individual and he was always more that willing to help fellow users out any way he could. He will be sorely missed.

He was generous with his support and encouragement. He gave me songwriting tips and software advice. We shared our views on AS. Rest in peace Scott.
