Well I have to say I did enjoy most of the shortlist some of them felt overlong to me (but that's probably more to do with my attention span than anything I suspect). Far to many mentions of umbongo though
Congratulations once again to all.

Yep... Well done to all who made the shortlist - a strong set there, and some fantastic takes on the brief...
For the sheer inventiveness of the subtitling ("Ugga Ugga Trinny and Susanna") - I'd have to go with Contains Nuts, too, as my top pick... Swertyd's is very enjoyable and creative, as well, and also had some great subtitling... So it's between those two, I reckon...
And, even more excitingly - the window has just opened again with a PAYING opportunity... That 'Mundo Loco' is a fantastic live event, and I think they've got a good chance of getting somewhere with it... They want material (one liners) - looks good to me...
I tried looking at the Mundo Loco site, but it wouldn't play anything - so like a intellectually challenged noviate at the convent of the Sacred Heart I am none the wiser.

You probably need to install ActiveX (which off the top of my head is Microsoft technology used for developing reusable object oriented software components. ActiveX is an alternative name for OLE automation (OLE - Object Linking and Embedding), not a separate technology. While the term "Automation" refers to the overall technology, "ActiveX" refers to the objects that can be created and manipulated using Automation)...then you will also need to download "Quicktime" as well which ironically seemed to take a while for me. I hope Wikipe..I mean, I have helped.
In short The News bit is a one line news story, Have I Got News for You, Mock the Week stylee...as for Sergei's Letters, I'm not sure there is actually an example on there...I'm guessing a kind of Russian Points of View...but I may be wrong.
I can't write anything in this darkness with the winter nights coming in anyway, it's tooo depressing...guess paying my electric might help...sigh.
I completely sympathise Sab - I've had no end of trouble on various sites myself... Sometimes I can view videos, and sometimes I can't - depending what machine/connection I'm on... I think there's just too many different formats and players they all use... But that Active X and Quick Time advice sounds good to me - and probably Flash Player, too, I'd add... Having them all should probably do it...
In other business: fantastic Blog there today from 'Scott The Dot'... He's definitely set the standard for others to follow... Well done...

Many thanks Seth..just hope I get somewhere with it..I can write these all day..just no one reads 'em....My cat sniggers at them though
You have a talent Scott, I remember you saying you used to do stand up but had your problems, maybe your older and wiser now (well older anyway)why not give it another go, writing your own stuff would be great. Give it a go mate, you've got the wit and the knowledge to write clever jokes and you have another advantage over me you can spell too...
Absolutely... And a lot of people got their early breaks writing material and little bits and pieces for others - and then go on to do their own things later... which is why I think this opportunity was a particulalry good one - and could be a very valuable first rung for people... It all helps make new contacts...
Yep.. Well done to WildJesus there for a great win in a hotly contested race... It's definitely an awesome prize, and it'll be great to hear how he gets on in due course...
