ok so this must make me sound really sad but the lay out of the vic has really been bugging me! if you notice the stairs in the vic, when you look at them from the bottom ie the ground floor of the vic, you go up them and turn to the right, however when you come up onto the landing on the first floor the staircase comes from the left so the stairs are facing the complete opposite way to when u went up.
now i remember from when tiffany fell down the stairs that there is only one bend in the stairs so the set is completely wrong. In order for the stairs to come out on the left they would have to bend to the left not the right!!!
hmmmmmm just an observation just wondered if anyone else has spotted this, or if i am completely wrong?
I always thought when the go up they turn right, then when you see them on the second floor coming up they still come to the right

they done, sorry this intrests me cause i study graphic design at uni and im doing a project on screen settings. The stairs from the bottom turn right leading right so the landing and the rooms off the landing would be facing the arches. then when they show the set from the top of the stairs the stairs come from an angle facing the market because the kitchen and part of the living room overlook the market! the market would be to the left of the vic meaning that the stairs need to turn left in order for this to be true.
if you look carefully the stairs come from 2 different angles, ok this may sound confusing but when i say they come from the left upstairs i mean if you think about it from the angle of standing at the bottom of the stairs they turn right then come up asif they had turned left.when you face then =m from upstairs when its shot from a different angle they are on the right but if they had turned right at the bottom of the stairs they should approact from the viewers left, had they really turned right.
because the upstairs n downstairs of the vic is 2 seperate sets it dosnt slot 2geva properly

sorry when i say the market would be to the left of the vic i mean from the angle you would be facing standing at the bottom of the stairs, eg the same andle asif your standing behind the main bit of the bar looking out towards the square
yeah the main landing would be directly over the bar so the stairs dont actually need to bend at all. but when they do shots of the upstairs of the vic the stairs come up from some wierd angle that in reality dosnt make sense
The stairs are correct, when looking up they go up and then turn to the left with a couple of steps there....then when you come out of the kitchen you take a right and the stairs are laid out the same with a couple going down and it turns right which when you think of it, it is correct....If that makes sense
when standing at the bottom of the stairs facing them they go up and turn to the right, which would lead off in the completely opposite direction to the kitchin. then when shot from upstairs the stairs come out on the landing opposite the kitchin which is the opposite side of the pub to the way the stairs lead off into
however i have based this on the old eastenders that are being shown on uk old at the mo which i record on sky plus so i can pause it when it shows footage of the stairs from both angles! In the eastenders being shows at the mo i havnt really looked so they may have changed the set slightly
(iv not gone mad its for a uni project where we have to piece together screen sets, iv chosen the vic) :-)
i aint any use to you cos i am going gog eyed even reading it,but have you looked at their site,it might show you in the inside of the vic and maybe the view from the windows upstairs

omg i think u may have solved the mystery!! the vic has 2 flights of stairs!! they could go up turn right, and then turn right again effectivly turning 90 degrees and lead you onto another flight which takes you up onto the landing
The stairs go up and to the RIGHT with a couple of steps now imagine how that would be laid out....now stand at the top and you have a couple of steps and it turns to the left, which is you drawnt this out, you would see that is it right!!
